Had my scan today, took ages to find baby but he.she is there and heart beating away , dated at about 6wks.4/5 days (so what i thought) However the lady said I had a partial bicornate uterus, and asked me if she had said that last time, :S (which she didn't,) She also couldnt see my right ovary. So then did an external scan, wow what a difference, baby was mcuh clearer and she could see ovaries.

Has anyone had/got a partial bicornate uterus? why didn't I have this or why wasnt it picked up last time? What does it actually mean in relation to the pregnancy, was also told I would be under consultant care because of this and the fact I I have a small fibroid. (My Doctor told me anyway that I would be under consultant care due to my age and I have high cholesteral)

So happy I saw baby alive but worried about the rest

So glad about the baby!! I can't help you with the rest though but hope you get some answers! x x

Hi Rosa, O god I am soooo happy about baby having a heart beat but I'm afraid I have no clue about the other, I'm sorry, can you google for more info? xxxxxxxx

As with other ladies really pleased baby ok but I don't have any clue about the other things sorry xx

You could always try and get an appt with your doctor and get them to explain it all to you (it's a bit annoying that the scan people didn't make sure that you understood everything before you left). Google does have a tendency to be scary!! Don't believe everything you read!

I had a look and it seemed to mean a heart shaped uterus, sometimes meaning slightly less space in there, Maybee catch up with mamafy incase that's what she has , and I believe her uterus is smaller too and she may be able to help. you have a partial so that souned much better.

I would say best to talk to docs about it or you may wait a long time for a consultant appointment in pregnancy, and set your mind at ease X

Great news about the heartbeat tho Rosa, fantastic

So glad that baby was ok Rosa, Ive read somewhere else on the forum about a lady having a heart shaped uterus, but i cant for the life of me remember where i read it!Google is the worst thing ever invented xxx

I'm sorry for suggesting google:wall2::wall2: Thats just what I do to find out more info about things xx

 Well done on your scan hun :)

I have a full blown bicornate uterus. Is this your first baby? It can mean baby could come earlier but with it being a partial BU I'm guessing the abnormality is slight so thats good and it may have no implications at all :) It can cause bleeding in pg as well but I'm at week 23 this time with nothing so far *touch wood*

Any questions ask away hun xx

Its my first baby, had a mc in june at 6 weeks, had 3 scans with that pregnancy and nothing was said about it, was so relived baby had hb etc didn't think of asking questions, midwife just told me to get in touch with my midwife asap and not wait for ten weeks and get her to poke for consultant appointment. I just don't understand why it wasn't picked up in the scans with previous mc.
Also been googling lol and they saying you can early, but how early,? (I saw 22/26 weeks  ) , will it also mean I have to have a csection? read about babies being breech . Maybe I shouldn't google and wait to see what consultant says. Just think I'm panicking now after I got home and it sunk in about her saying I seemed sensible enough to poke the midwife hard enough to rush appointment through, (though can't get an appointment with her til the 6th September

Well I have had my 5 at 35 weeks, 35 weeks, 31 weeks , 28 weeks and 35 weeks

Due to my early deliveries I am scheduled to have steroids for babys lungs at 24-26 weeks

As I've delivered early (mainly from my 28 weeker) I am on drugs to relax the uterus to prevent me from contracting or help with that

I had a emergency C/S with my first as I actually had a septum in my vagina. Neither the septum or bicornate uterus was picked up until I was in labour even though I've had several scans and internals :eh:

I went onto have all vaginal deliveries and none of the kids were breech

Baby was presenting breech at 20 weeks and 21 weeks but I'm not concerned as yet

Think I've covered all those questions :)

Really hun I wouldn't be too concerned

Thank you Mamafy, you made me feel a whole lot better

 I'm glad hun, let me know how they approach you :)

I will Mamafy, I will update when i see the midwife on the 6th :)
