Had a Sweep

Hi girlies, so I had an appointment this evening with my consultant. Babys head is 3/5ths engage like it was last week. The placenta is still ageing but he thinks it will last another week so there was no mention of a section.

He did an internal and found that I was 1.5cms dilated. Whilst there he also did a sweep (OUCH!!!). Within the hour I had a bleed which he told me could happen so I am not worried about it. I'm not as paranoid about every wee niggle like I thought I would be. Part of me is ready for what could come - the other part is terrified!

He did warn me that sometimes a sweep does nothing for some people so its a case of time will tell!

Morning! Had some cramping last night but apart from that nada, zilch, zero, nothing! I kinda think if anything was going to happen as a result of sweep that it would have kicked in overnight?

I intend to do my housework today but apart from that will be taking it easy and won't be too far from home on the off chance that something should happen

when i had my sweep with my last baby i had nothing. my waters just popped on the toilet than that kicked everything off. it could still happen for you x

Its really weird but since the sweep I have more back pain and am well slowed up on my feet! Was in Tesco earlier with my sis and had to abandon the shopping as I had an overwhelming sense of pressure, panicked that my waters were going to break but was fine once I sat down outside.

I am trying not to make this a waiting game but it really seems to have become one now! Will keep you all posted! x

Oh no Tracey DON'T SAY THAT! I am convinced I will go this week. On the plus side I am fairly sure that because doc says there is a week left in my placenta that if I haven't gone by Thursday he will take me in next weekend so I suppose I have to take some consolation in that....... I will cry if he doesn't! Lol I have gone from sailing through this pregnancy to getting to 'I want this bit over NOW' overnight!
