Cos I've got SPD I've been going to a Chiropractor for the last few weeks and OMG what a dfference she's made I have so much less pain. My midwife has said that it looks like the baby is fairly big although I am measuring exactly right for my weeks but I don't really want to go too far over my due date on Saturday so I've booked a massage for Wednesday - the girl doing the massage specialises in massages for pregnant women and as I am 39+ weeks she is going to do a technique that can help encourage labour to start.

So please keep your fingers crossed for me I want this baby out NOW. I am so impatient. :D

Hope you enjoy the massage and hope it gets you started Smurf. Wish I had went to a chiropractor - I'm in agony with the SPD now. Hopefully not long to go now xx

Sounds like a nice way to bring on labour I hope it works for you
I bet you feel like you've been pregnant forever too!

That sounds great hun, you will have to PM me her number if that is ok as i would love one of them in a few weeks... have to let me know how you get on  :cheer:

Ooooh how gorgeous, I really, really hope it works for you, and what a fabulous time you'll have :D

Thanks girls I really hope it works too, Paula I've pm'd you.

Weenik its never too late to go to a chiropractor for SPD the girl I see is McTimoney trained and specialises in SPD in pregnancy its made a huge difference to me well worth looking into. The doctors actually referred me to an NHS physio but she did more damage than good so I booked an apt privately well worth the money.

Sounds like a nice massage!

I had a friend do a back massage for me, she's a pro and I need it, seemed like my back was too stiff but the bottom of it bruised easy. I had to sit up on a chair, obv couldn't lay on my front.

She mentioned this special kind of massge, she'd said it had worked wonders for women who were over due, suppose to stimulate the right points.

Mind you, she also said sex was very good. Apparently the man's *** has a chemical in it that is suppose to help break your waters.

Good luck xx

Hiya well had my massage yesterday and it was wonderful. Basically she stared off with reflexology on my ankles and toes hitting all the pressure points for getting labour started. She then gave me a fully body massage spending lots of time on my bump and back and it was absolute bliss. I felt really unwell yesterday slept badly the night before and just felt knackered couldn't do anything when I got home from the massage I was like a different person.

She also gave me some homeopathy tablets to take while she was working on me and advised if I get any tightenings to take the tablets each time I get a pain they're supposed to bring the contractions into a regular rythem so I am very hopeful.

I paid £45 for 1.5 hr session and I definitely think it was worth it I slept much better last night than I have in weeks although was still up a hundred tims for a wee.

I'm off the see the midwife this afternoon so hoping she's going to tell me baby's head is engaged and things will start very soon.

Hi Hun,

Good im glad you got some kip smurf, its a fecking nightmare getting comfortable those last few weeks, but after you have jhad your baby i promise it all goes back to normal.
If it werent for imogen waking me up id be sleeping a treat!

Hiya sorry not been online for a couple of days. Well went to the midwife on Thursday afternoon but head still not fully engaged. MW did say that she thought the head was further down that when she last felt it. I am getting lots of feelings of bubs moving downwards so hopefully it will have had some effect.

Even tho the massage didn't bring on labour I would still definitely recommend it it was so relaxing.
