I am on week 2 of school summer holidays and it was my plan to get going with the nursery and basically have everything we need for bubs in place before I go back in September because I will be back at work for 3 weeks and then bubs is due 2 weeks after that.

I am feeling frustrated because people keep saying 'Oh you have loads of time - first babies are usually late anyway'. So?! I want to get on with things as per my plan:wall2:

DH is, I think getting a bit bored of me constantly sending him emails asking for his opinion on things as I don't feel I can go out buying bits without him agreeing to them as we agreed to decide on everything together. Also, some family members have voiced that they'd like to buy bits for the bubs but I don't know am I supposed to choose stuff and then tell them where to get it, therefore bringing it up out of nowhere or am I supposed to wait for them to bring it up with me- therefore I'll never be able to get on with finishing the nursery this summer as understandably they probably don't think these things need buying until a couple of weeks before bubs is due.

I know this is not a big deal, I'm just a bit frustrated because I want to get on with things - I wonder if this is nesting kicking in?

Go on, tell them. I would. My mum said she would buy us a changing table and when she was here she didnt mention it so i just said to her "should we look at changing table tomorrow?" :D and now i got the most gorgeous one!! ;D

Well after all my moaning this morning I have a changing table and wardrobe being delivered this evening which means that I can start getting the nursery sorted this weekend. :)

I haven't heard that first babies are usually late-mine certainly wasn't! She was a week early x I know how you feel regarding getting stuff done and ready-I wanna do that too but I'm struggling with EXTREME tiredness at the minute (think asleep for 9pm) and OH is getting like zero days off at the minute! I would feel uncomfortable bringing up things for people to buy so I know how you're feeling there too x hope you get it all sorted and done x

I feel the same but with our mums we picked what we wanted and we have either paid for it and they given us the money back or they have asked us to pick out what we want and they have bought it!! We got to pick the bedding we wanted for the cot and my mum paid for it!! Plus i managed to get some lovely matching baby bits which i found and are 'from my nan' which i totally adore and can't wait to use!!!!!!

When OH's parents offered to help us buy some stuff we decided the best way would be for them just to give us a cheque and then we could spend it on things as we found them - e.g. when stuff was on offer or in a sale - I know by the time I had plucked up the courage to ask them to go and buy something we would have missed out on a good deal. It was quite nice to then show them the 'end result' as it were, despite not having everything yet.

My mums offered to give me some money to buy stuff even though I said I don't want any but she's insisting! I don't want to bring it up with her but I've only got afew more things to get and don't want to keep waiting for this money! I want to buy the last things now!!!
