Hi girls

Hope you had a lovely Easter.

Couple of questions to see what you think....

Do symptoms come and go? I have been feeling sick all weekend but then don't have anything today. I'm about 6 1/2 weeks I think.

also - do these AF type pains ever go away? My doctor didn't know what they were (not reassuring!) but said if there was no bleeding then not to worry but it's a really annoying persistent nagging ache and sometimes quite painful - it even radiates down my leg at bit. Doesn't seem to be any one place in particular

would love to get your opinions

I am glad you have put this post on, it has eased my mind a little. I am just under 7 weeks pregnant and it sounds like I am having the same pains as you which are also sometimes moving down my leg.
The majority of the pains are like a dull ache a bit like I have pulled a muscle but sometimes they are like stabbling pains but these only last a second.
Over the past few days they have been there a lot, I have been trying not to worry about them too much as I have heard that you can get loads of odd pains which are nothing.
My husband has suggested that if I am really worried he will pay for a scan to ease my mind a little.I will give it another week and if I am still getting the pains I may take him up on the offer.

I wish someone had told me you get AF pains even when pregnant! My aches and pains sound exactly the same as yours. It basically sometimes feels like AF is about to start which is the most worrying thing.

we also looked into private scan but I guess if m/c is going to happen then it is going to happen. I would find it a reassurance though so might consider paying - I would love to know if you decide to go for it and how you find the experience.

Have you got any other symptoms? I sort of wish mine would come back but then having spent this weekend not even wanting easter eggs I'm not sure that is right :)

I have had other symptoms, sore boobs and morning sickness which doesn't happen in the morning but in the middle of the night which is a bit of a pain :x
I am going to ring and get all the details about a private scan tomorrow. I have found a place near to where I live called ultrasound now, the do a scan called an early dating scan from 6 - 10 wks which sounds good "This scan will confirm that you are pregnant and the number of babies you are carrying. It will also confirm that the pregnancy is growing in the womb. By 7 weeks it is possible to detect the baby’s heart beat. Measurements of your baby will allow us to determine how many weeks pregnant you are"
I am just so nervous, I cant think how many times I have convinced myself that I am having an ectopic pregnancy or that there is something else wrong. I really need to clam down. I am off work at the moment as it is the Easter hols, I am sure when I go back to work I will be loads better, I wont have as much time to sit and think about things :)

I have been getting AF pains too, but I think sometimes my flagging digestive sysytem due to morning sickness bloats me out and gives me pains too.

With my first I got pains that went down my leg, and sometimes they were quite obviously on one side of my tummy which would worry me (ectopic etc). But my sister, who had already had four babies, reassured me that the growing uterous needs muscles to support it and the muscles have never done it before so they hurt as they stretch.

I think as long as the pains aren't sharp and unbearable you should not worry too much.

Also..

I certainly find that my symptoms come and go, although my boobs are consistently sore! I think that is the joy of 'morning sickness'. It should be called 'you never know when I'm gonna make you feel like death' sickness!

poor you! I think being back at work will be much better as you will have other stuff to be focused on. I am a nightmare for worrying if I have too much time on my hands (especially if I get into internet 'research'!)

I am exactly the same though. It's probably worse because its far too soon to tell anyone so have to keep worries to myself.

when I get carried away with stressing I remind myself that there isn't anything we can do about these things so worrying won't get me anywhere. I might break it down into weeks as getting to that 12 week point seems like a lifetime away :)

hope you have a nice relaxing evening and good luck phoning the scan place.

I had these pains with both my pregnancies and my Doc told me it was just my cervix stretching and getting ready for the growing it will have to do during prgnancy. Hope this helps.
