Hi - ive never posted on here before but have 'lurked' alot!
Anyway i am due on the 10th September and both my younger sisters have already had children. I am pretty terrified of labour and birth and have a very open mind when it comes to using pain relief - but ive had loads of discussions with my sisters and my mum who all say using pain relief is 'cheating'!
I know this is a load of old rubbish but its making me feel so depressed as they will automatically see me as a failure or weak if i do have to have any pain relief and ill never hear the end of it. Apparently ill be 'letting the side down'. I have already tried the tack of 'would you have a tooth out with an anaesthetic?' but they all state that this is completely different.
Sorry - Theres no real point to this thread but ive just had another of these debates with my mum and its made me feel really really sad and a failure already plus an enormous amount of pressure to go through labour and birth 'naturally' even if it is excruciating.
Thanks for listening!
