Yesterday I had got off the train at Sutton to do some grocery shopping. When I came back, I had two bags of reasonably heavy shopping and my pelvis had started to hurt so I was walking quite slowly. The barrier was open with two members of staff in attendance and they had just let through two blokes who were carrying nothing.

I went to go through, and the second one, who didn't even appear to be in charge of the gate insisted I go through the ticketed barriers, despite these facts! I was so cross, but I just glared at her as I couldn't be bothered to have an argument and possibly miss my train.

She'd better not do that to me when I'm further on or I think I'll lynch her!!

Anyone else encountering this kind of infuriating, inconsistent jobsworthiness?

The other day actually. We have a sticker on the front door left there by the previous owners that we decided to leave there, that basically say we do not buy or sell at the door, require ID for all official callers etc.

So this n-power guy knocks trying to get us to change our supplier - I told him we had recently done a comparison with simply switch who I used to work for and was quite happy as we were thank you very much, and he replied "now dont be like the older generation and write it off straight away, atleast listen to me!" and continued to tell us we should change, I told him again we're not interested and he got more and more arsy, I pointed out the sticker and said "look mate, if we wanted to change we would research it ourselves and make our own decision, not based on a field sales agent who just wants commision" and he then thrust he's id badge in my face and said hes not a salesman but an advisor. By this time I was just bemused by it all and said I admired his determination but he would get no business from us and shut the door. He stood there a good minute before wandering off
