Growth scans - can we compare measurements, please??

Hi everyone,

I had a scan yesterday, and the baby was measured and I was told it was 7lb1oz, but according to a chart I have, the measurements don't really add up to being that much - just that baby has a big abdomen, which could be due to it just drinking a lot of amniotic fluid.

These were my measurements at 37+4 weeks, and what the chart indicates in weeks:

HC 324mm (36 weeks)
AC 353mm (40 weeks)
FL 67mm (34 weeks)

So, based on my measurements I really wouldn't say that baby is 7lb1oz, but I suppose we won't know for sure until baby arrives.

Just wondered what others had been told??

Good luck for your scan, if it's anything like mine it will be wonderful. Hope it is. Ask them to measure if you think they are not going to.

It's not a chart as such, just read the measurements off it and it will give you an amount in weeks down the side, which is supposed to be average.

Measurements from my growth scan at 36+3:

HC: 327mm (36 weeks)

AC: 340mm (38-39 weeks)

FL: 72mm (37 weeks)

And he was estimated 7lb 1oz

Will mine count? At 26+2 she was:

bpd - 67mm
hc - 248mm
ac - 214mm

Estimated fetal weight - 893g, someone please convert that for me into pounds!

Just under 2lb I think

Mine doesnt have any of that and i didnt get a chart with sizes ect??
was just told the weight

They only do the measurements at your 20 week scan then again if you have a growth/presentation scan.

Im not sure about where you live but over here we get a scan report which goes in with your notes, it lists the measurements from your scan

rats i didnt get one! the doc & another mw felt my tummy and used the sound scanner thingy and were convinced enough babys head down so i didnt hav a scan after all. a shame kinda coz i was looking forward to seeing my princess! but at least i kno shes head down
anyways, sorry i cant help with the growth chart then!
