Hi ladies, I have to admit I am a bit lost (ok, completely lost) as to what I need to buy for bubs.

Various lists suggest thermometer (which one?), brush and comb, nasal aspirator, nail clippers etc

I have seen Tommie Tippie grooming kit but after reading reviews I am not sure.

What did you find useful/what would you buy?

I have seen thermometers that are dummies, are they any good? There is so much around!

Hiya

I bought the TT kit and found it really handy. I still use the nail clippers and the hairbrush. I've used the thermometer a few times, haven't used the toothbrush as am using a finger brush atm. I didn't get on the with nasal aspirator though, found it too big for his nose, but tbh all the others I looked at to try and replace it all seem the same size.

I can't fault the kit at all, it seems as good as other brands out there.

xxxx

I've gotta say, I didn't actually buy anything! And tbh all the really useful stuff (Karvol/Calpol etc), they can't have till 2 or 3 months anyway.

We have a normal adult underarm thermometer that we have used on Lizzie which has been fine, haven't needed to brush her hair yet as she's still a baldy, and I wouldn't dare go near her little fingers with clippers even if I had them!

What we did use was cotton wool and warm water instead of wipes for the first 6 weeks, and believe me, it was a LOT of cotton wool! We bought pads cos they don't fall apart like a pleat etc, but must've got through a pack in a couple of days lol :) Also used olive oil on her dry skin, rather than any specific 'baby' products.

I had an under arm thermometer But it really wasn't accurate so ended up buying a digital one, haven't used a brush yet as she still doesn't have much hair at 9 months and have just got a pair of baby nail scissors. hope this helps a bit xx

I was given the tt kit but I haven't really used much out of it yet as Emily doesn't have much hair, I was advised to use baby nail scissors not the clippers. the thermometer is a pain because it takes about 8 minutes to actually read her temp so I ordered an in ear one online the other day. I tried the nasal aspirator this week and it's HUGE lol. I wouldn't have bothered buying it but I'm grateful for the gift :)

Mothercare grooming pack was/is really handy chick xxxx

We have the TT grooming kit. We haven't really used it yet. He hasn't got loads of hair so I just sweep it down with my hand. I use the nail file in the set for his nails as I'm too scared to use scissors yet. I think I will use more bits as he gets older. xx

I used the TT kit but bought a digital thermometer from mother care instead as gave a quick and easy reading (flashes red when too hot green for OK and orange...i think...for too cold)

We only really use the hair brush and nail clippers though, havnt had the need to use anything else yet!

I've got the TT kit too, I've used everything except the toothbrush, and like Maria also found the aspirator wasn't any good. It's useful having everything in a little pack though x
