I am planning on using grobags for my little boy when he is born. Does anyone know if they can be used from birth? Also they come in different tog's. My LO is due in February and i want to make sure he is warm enough at night but i dont want him to overheat either. Would a 2.5 tog growbag be ok for him to have in February?

I don't know the answer but I would ask in a baby shop like mothercare or something. That's what I plan to do next when when I can start my spending spree!

I wouldn't use them from birth chick, i would swaddle using blankets. Then move on to sleeping bags xxxx

I'm not sure on the tog but what I really want to know is.....DO THEY MAKE THEM IN MY SIZE?????

Very disappointed, I thought this thread was called Grotbags :(
"there's somebody at the door, there's somebody at the door"
Most of you are probably too young for that reference  x

LOL... I used to LOVE Grotbags hehe... noone can remember her when I mention her :-( xx

I know who she it I think is she a witch with a green face?? As far as Im aware they can be used from birth. Thats what i was planning on using anyway!!

Ha ha have no advice on grobags bit whenever I hear people talking/writing about them I just think of grow bags for tomatoes!!!! (think I'm going mental)

And yes I remember grotbags...see we're not all youngsters on here!! Xx

They can be used from birth. We used them and Layla is fine. We used blankets in the hospital though and swaddled etc but when we got home it was grobags all the way. 2.5 tog is fine. You have to remember they will have a vest and sleepsuit on too and the tog rating on a grobag means that they don't get too hot/too cold etc. Keeps them just right :) You don't need additional blankets either - plus at such a young age it can be a "hazard" - another reason why the Grobags are so great :)

- will just take this opportunity to mention that I have a couple for sale at the moment in Classifieds... ;-) xx

Haha - I was the same when I first heard "GroBag" hehe. I just call them sleeping bags to be honest

Youngsters... LOL... I feel old lol... I hit the mighty 30 in April haha ;-) xx

IV got 2 Growbags, a 1.5 tog and a 3 tog ready for the winter (I like to prepare) on one of the labels, cant remember which one, it says suitable from birth, the other doesnt, so it may be advisable to check in mother care or something first, I cant personaly see the problem though from using from birth as there "wriggle" proof

You just need to make sure their head can't slip through the hole at the top. I started using them once Isla learnt to move, I love them, but now I'm struggling to get her used to using a blanket/cot quit.

I also have a couple for sale ;)
