Hi,

I'm 5 weeks pregnant approx although if i hadn't tested due to overdue period I wouldn't know! When should I book in to see my GP?

Also, my CM is very thick and snotty (sorry TMI) in my knickers. Is that normal for this time?

thank you xx

I called my gp straight away and they got the midwife to call me to book on.

And yes, cm is supposed to increase and is often white and creamy x

I saw my GP at 4 weeks who noted the pregnancy on my record and then I booked in with the midwife and the receptionist got me to fill in the NHS exemption form. I'm 13 weeks and still got lots of cm.

i think you should book in now.

Im 6 weeks and have an appointment for coming Monday.

I agree deffo book in now. I know some areas have a longer waiting time than others. The cm is normal too Hun.

Yes book in now. I saw my GP last week at 6 weeks and she has referred me to the midwifery unit. I am now getting impatient as not yet had any contact from the midwife but perhaps a little more patience is required!

I've had loads of cm - I am taking it as a good sign so I wouldn't worry. It comes and goes I find.

An appointment with your GP is not hugely necessary. You are able to directly refer yourself to the MW services which is all the gp will do anyway.

I didn't bother with GP second time round given the first was a wasted appointment for both me and others who need it for me to tell him in pregnant and wait on the mw anyway.

Good luck - phone your midwifery services and get booked in by 8w for screening bloods xxx

this may sound stupid but how do I find my local MW services, if i google it then loads show up!

If you ring your gp surgery and ask for the number for the community midwives they should help you out.

Xxxx

When I first found out I was pregnant, I rang my GP surgery and they told me I didn't need to see a doctor and booked me straight in for my 8weeks booking appt with the midwife (my midwife sees me at the GP surgery) and then it went from there. They asked when my last period was and helped me work out whereabouts 8weeks would take me to x

Thanks ladies. I called my surgery and asked if I needed to see gp first or I could go straight to MW but reception said I needed to see gp for initial appointment who would do the necessary. It doesn't matter too much to me either way as I still can't really believe I am pregnant. First appointment that was bookable in advance in next Friday when I'll be about 7 weeks so I guess I might not have such a long wait for scan haha! Hope they're not cross I don't know whenlast period was x

I'd have preferred to see my GP to get it confirmed tbh because I spent the whole time worrying! Haha, glad you've got an appt! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!! X

Your gp must work different then.

My gp looked at my test congratulated me and sent me on my way lol. Didn't feel I wanted to waste an appointment second time round.

I guess if you have any concerns it be best to see a gp. Good luck.
