Good baby moniter?

I reaaly need a new baby monitor.
Mine is so rubbish, constantly crackles, breaks up and cuts out for 5 minutes so I dont think I hear him when I should.
has anyone got any recommendations of a good one that doesn't cost the earth either?

I have a tomy walkabout monitor and its safe to say, the company shall be recieving a strongly worded letter. It doesnt work at all now and would cut out randomly when it did.

Ill be reading this thread and seeing if anyone knows any good ones. At the moment its a case of listening and checking on her every now and then.

I got the tommee tippee sensor monitor and it is good, I guess just the sound monitor would be just as good. The only thing is that the range doesn't go as far as the garden, bit unless you live in a mansion I guess that isn't too much of an issue!

I have the angelcare one with the sensor pad- expensive but worth every penny for the peace of mind.

i have the lindam clarity video monitor, its really good and has a clear picture the only thing is the white noise on the handset is quite loud and if the batteries dying it gets worse. xx
