Going back to work

Hiya,
Well im due back at work at the end of May but have asked if i can reduce my days down to 4 days a week.
The thing is the manager has handed her noticed in at the shop in the town near us and they keep hinting about me going to work there. Can they force me to go to another shop i dont want to work in the other shop because i have family in the town that i dont get on with i know they have to legally keep your job open for you but do they have to keep it at the shop you were working at before? Any help would be appreciated Gracexxx

i am not 100% sure hun but i think as long as they give you back a job the same as you left i think it could be in another shop nearby but dont take my word for it, r u in any union if so try ringing them

Your employers have to keep the same job open for you but this does not mean that it has to be at the same location! does your original contract have any 'mobility' clauses? if you are unsure then you need to speak to your manager or personnel office. If they cannot help then a union rep or the CAB.
