Alright. Here’s the backstory. I was diagnosed with a giant cell tumor about 18 months ago. It’s on my L5. They did surgery to remove it. Easy surgery. But it has a 20% chance of returning. Anyway, we discovered this problem because I was having back pain. Ironically, we don’t know 100% if the tumor was causing the pain or if it was SI joint disfunction which I totally have as well. Found that out around the same time.
Anyway, the back pain has returned. My SI joint was very out of wack right now so it COULD just be that. But I’m getting an MRI to check on the tumor. I’m terrified. Just want everyone to cross fingers and toes for me. Haven’t scheduled the MRI yet but I plan to soon. Giant cell tumors are benign, but aggressive and reek havoc on bones and joints. The surgery was simple the first time because it was small. If it gets too big it can cause the need for a more invasive surgery. It’s the only benign tumor that can met to the lungs. Just very scared considering I’m 5 wk 1. There is a possible need for immediate surgery. And therefore, a possible Increased risk to the babe. Very very scary times. I haven’t had time to even enjoy this pregnancy yet because of this. It reminds me of that story “The monkeys paw”. I wished so hard for this baby and I sure got it...with one hell of a possible twist.
