Getting rid of the smell of sick! HELP!

Tom was really, really sick last night in his cot and then all over me and the carpet in his room.

I changed his sheets, all his clothes and bunged everything in the machine. I gave the carpet a good clean BUT it still STINKS of sick and now the whole house smells of it. I've had the window open in his room all day but can't get rid of the smell.

Any ideas of how I can shift it?

bicarb of soda sprinkled over, then left for a bit and hoovered. might need repeating though
