Getting Henry weighed again today

At our 5 day check they weighed him and he had lost 300g which is 7% of his body weight. Gotta get him weighed again today and really hoping he has put on cos I don't wanna gave to top him up with formula. If I have to I will as I wanna do best for him, but dont want to

joe lost quite a bit at first and although he fed constantly he only regained an oz by the following week but then on monday he'd gained 9oz in a week!!

He has put on 100g in 2 days! Mw said average was 15-20g a day! Lol! Z

Sounds like you're doing great. I completely forgot to get Lewis weighed last Tuesday can't wait to find out how much he is.

Well my mw on monday made me doubt myself as he wasn't supposed to be weighed again until Saturday, so when she said she "wanted to keep an eye on him" and get him weighed an extra time it made me worry I wasn't feeding him enough and he wasn't getting enough.

Feel so much better now!

And his cord has nearly come off :yay; it's being held on by one vessel and only by the tiniest of bits. Mw today said it will probably come off tonight so glad cos it looks gross and smells!

wahoo.thays fab. austin bein weighed tmra by HV. 3rd time...last time was almost bk up to birth weight so fingers crossed

my mw said they get 3 weeks to get back up to birthweight, and that bf babies always lose wore to start. glad hes put on for you, xxx

Had hv round today, little chunk has put on 120g since Wednesday! Lol!

awesome. Lyssa lost 8% to start with and was pretty much comatose yesterday. i was so worried about her energy levels i got some formula and gave her a feed with that in the evening and topped up after bf and shes been so much more alert today, has wet nappies which she wasnt really doing and shes also put on 60g too so im massively relieved. im gonna keep expressing and giving her what i can but i have a horrible feeling im gonna end up ff her just cos she needs so much to keep her active and lively and my boobs are so bloody sore where i just cant seem to get her latch right.

Henry had problems latching to begin with. Do u have a local bf support group? They can show u how to get her to latch properly.

I've found a mini medela electric breast pump on the fb swopshop for £15 so gonna express with that and get DH to do feeds during the day so I can get more sleep. I wuite like the graveyard shift cos it's quiet!

yeah they dont meet til the 21st tho so have to make it til then. my poor nips lol theyre almost bleeding and a bit scabby on one bit now on either side so i really cant have her suck on them. gonna try the sheilds more today after i express off breakfast

Mine did that on day 5. Just had to grin and bear it. Breastmilk is good for healing ur nips so rub some round. Was gone by day 7 and it's comfortable to feed again now xxx
