GBS positive

Hi ladies

I've got my GBS swab results back and it's positive.

I know it's really common but I'm still a bit worried.

What happens now??

I have MW on Monday and I'm booked in for my section a week Monday.

Any advice or experience I would love to hear!

Ive tested positive also. Ive been told just to go straight in as soon as water break as will need antibiotics. Im goig for vbac his time so not sure if having c section is any different.
I write down any questions u have and ask mw and I did this with my consultant. Or theres a website gbs.org u can lots of info from it

I too tested postive in my urine so they gave me a course of antibiotics now and then I will have the iv antibiotics in labour

I am worried also and trying not to think about it in all honesty I think membrane sweeps are usually avoided if we have gbs

I've asked my consultant abot sweeps and they have told me its ok.. but ive seen others on here question it because they have seen it on the gbs web that it isnt advised.... I will be asking again though at my next app to be sure.
