French baby boy to come !

Hello everybody !

I'm French and with my husband we will have our first baby boy in one month

We really like the first name NATHAN but it's really common... So we are thinking about NATTAN or NAËTAN !!?? Could you please tell me what do you think about these first names and how do you pronounce them ?

Common is not necessarily a bad thing. There is a good chance that your little boy will spend his life spelling his name to people...'no... not Nathan, it's Nattan... or Naetan'. It is only my personal opinion but I wouldn't pick neither, I would go with Nathan, it is a lovely name xx

I wouldn't say Nathan is that common, I only know one and he is 40. I've not come across any at the baby groups I've been to. I think it is a good name as it is, if you love it then go for it.
