freecycle question ?

do you have to have given stuff away before you can receive ?

ive just manage to join the 3 local groups but its all a bit confusing lol ive got stuff to give away so will post them but wondered if they had to go before id be allowed stuff ?

Not really....they may have something to say if you continually ask for stuff without ever offering anything but you will be able to ask before offering

My local group insists you post a "giveaway" post before you can start asking for stuff if that make sense, they say even if it's just a book or old skirt you have to post something your offering before you can answer ads or place wanted ads.

On our freecycle you can place two wanted posts per month and I'm pretty sure you don't need to give something away first.

Ours says to put up an "Offer:" post before asking for a "Wanted:", but you can reply to as many offer posts as you like before offering your own stuff
