Yes,FREE !!!!Apparently, every child in the UK under 4 is entitled to these books, you HV or library can give you the packs. There is an address to write to to see if you are in a bookstart area,or if you have any problems

Hiya Bagpuss!

I have fired the pendant today...it looks great :D
Plus I need to send you the pics of the babies....or shall I post them?
Mason got one of these packs when he was a baby, he loved it!

:D Hello!!
Can't wait to see the pendant - and I don't mind if you post or send the pics!God I'm really excited now! :D

I fell upon the Bookstart site, and I thought that I'd post it so that no one misses out :D

Yes we've had the first Bookstart pack and it was great! I think there are three packs altogether, aimed at different ages and you get all three eventually :). We got a nice canvas bag as well which is very useful.

We got it when Aaron was about 7 months old. Thought it was brilliant so went on the site and got a load more for half the price in the shops! Such a good idea!

Are you allowed to get the bookstart packs when your LO is younger than 7months? We have several books which Ellie loves, she turns the pages on them (generally backward and forward with the same page) and touches the touchy feely parts.

Not sure Nicky! I just got them given to me at the development check. So I am assuming they will just give them to you then.

I think it depends on how they are given out near you. Ours came from the library and we got them when he was a couple of weeks old as all of my post-natal group took a trip to the library (it was winter and we needed to get out!). Ask your library how you'll be getting yours as if it's through your HV you might have to wait I guess
