Hi all.

I did a test yesterday and it said positive, so to double check I did another this morning. It said positive, and 2-3 weeks. Does anyone know how accurate the Clear Blue Digital tests are for telling you how many weeks gone you are?

Myself and my Husband are over the moon. We have told our parents, but that is all.

When do you think I should go and see the Doctor? My Mum said to make an appointment in a few weeks. What did you all do?

I am really happy, but really scared at the same time. As not sure what I can and can't eat.

I don't smoke, or drink so I haven't got anything like that to worry about. I just need to try and eat abit healthier.

I was just wondering if any of you would be able to share some advice on what to do next.

Thanks in advance.

Look forward to meeting you all on here.

xx

they was acurate on me :) so it means your 4-5 weeks pregnant :)
book the dr as soon as you can really
here is a list of foods to avoid

also start taking folic acid as soon as possible if you dont already

oh and big congratulations and welcome to the forum :)

Thanks so much for the link! :) Will have a look at it.

How does it work out 4-5 weeks when it says 2-3 on the test? Am I being thick lol :)

So you think I should go to the Doctors sooner rather than wait a few weeks?

I have been taking folic acid for about 2 months. But I've just switched to Pregnacare tablets, which also have folic acid in them.

It means 3-3 weeks from conception hun , so your 4-5 weeks pregnant .
I was confused to . basically
"we start counting pregnancy from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP) – even though, of course, you weren't pregnant then. The first day of your LMP is typically about two weeks before you ovulated and conceived your baby. We count from there because most women don't know exactly when they ovulated, but most of them do know when their last period started.
How is my due date calculated?
We calculate your due date the same way your healthcare provider does, by counting 280 days from the first day of your LMP. That's exactly 40 weeks.
Your due date is just an estimate, however. Only 5 percent of babies are born on their due date."

Stolen from baby centre lol :)

I went to the doctor the day after I found out and he gave me a letter to send to my maternity hospital . They will call me in nearer the 12 week mark for a scan .
Congrats xxxxxx

because when you become pregnant you are actually classed as pregnancy starting from the 1st day of your last period so then you normally ovulate 14 days later (on average lol) so 2 weeks is actually added on :) when i tested the day AF(period) was due my test said 1-2 weeks which made me 3-4 and my scan was 1 day out on dates :) so if you know when you ovulate add 14 days onto that and thats how far gone you are :)
i booked in straight away you prob wont see the midwife until your 10 week booking in some drs like to do tests to confirm your pregnancy although not alot do this nowadays and then you will have a scan when you are 12 weeks pregnant you dont have to do it straight away but i think most people get booked in as soon as they can haha

Thanks both of you :)

Think I will make an appointment for next week then!

:)

Sorry another question lol... will the Doctor work out my 'due date' when I go to visit, or do you have to wait until you have your first scan?

Sorry if these are dumb questions, I just don't know very much about it all.

x

the dr or midwife will work it out but this is normally a rough guide and then the scan will also give you a date this date at the scan will be your due day but if you have an average 28 day cycle the 1 the dr or midwife gives you should be pretty close to the actual date my LMP was 26th august ovulation was 9th september and due date is 1st june so only out by 1 day :)

Hey congratulations! I wouldn't expect too much invovement from the 1st GP visit - mine didn't even give me a test to confirm the pregnancy, said they just took people's word for it as their tests were the same as a home test! They might give you an estimated due date or they might wait for your first midwife visit.. Mine just gave me the telephone number for the midwife and told me to book in with her - although mine was very good at talking over my fears and reassuring me as I'd previously miscarried. I was suprised by how little involvement there is in the 1st 12 weeks though - they basically just like to leave you to it! None of it seemed real to me until my 12 week scan when I actually saw my little baby bouncing around, before that I used to wonder if it was all my imagination as no one had even confirmed the pregnancy! LOL. Of course I'm sure all GP surgeries are different, but that was my experience. Congratulations - just keep taking your folic acid and take i easy - you'll probably find you feel very tired in tri 1!! xx

Hi. Have just got back from the Drs. I am 6 weeks gone :) More than I thought. My Dr gave me an estimated due date of the 4th August. :)

I am feeling very tired, but that is my only symptom. Is that normal?

xx
