Fortune Telling

What does everyone thing about fortune tellers and tarot cards and things like that?
I personally think that some people do actually have the ability to 'see' some parts of peoples future from personal experience of an old neighbour who would do tarot cards for fun (no money involved) and predicted a lot of things that actually went on to happen. Also stories from others readings happening. However i do realise that some people are total fakes and just in it for the money. Also don't really believe in things like horoscopes.

I've only had tarot cards read once (about 2 years ago) and i didnt really get told much other than what was happening in my life at the time .The only intresting things she told me was that i would have a little girl when i was 28 but would have children before then.
I don't know how good she was (i wasn't too imprressed) but she did know that my aunties wedding ring was in her washing machine as she put it in her dressing gown and forgot to put it back on, then put the dressing gown in the washing machine!

Sorry went on a bit there! Does anyone have a good story to tell about having their fortune told or do you think its a load of hocus pocus?

Im a tarot reader and have been for 14 years, and the amount of charlatans I have come across is unbelievable!

The misconceptions about the tarot are numerous, mainly thanks to these charlatans and the way they have been portrayed in films etc over the years, the main misconception being that they can tell the future.

The tarot takes a snapshot of where you are now, and gives possible outcomes based on that. They also give possible obstacles to overcome to avoid that future if its a negative one, or advises goals to reach to see the possible future if its a positive one.

Also, they generally only cover 6 months to a year, any further into the future than that is completely unseable by all but the very very rare few.

I think thats the problem with tarot reading, there are so many people in it to make a quick buck that it makes people sceptical. The woman i got did say that it was only to be used as guidance and not seen as definite events that would happen.
I love hearing peoples tarot reading stories as i know there are genuine people out there (yourself included obviously ) who aren't out to scam people.

I had my cards done last summer, the girl who did them is also a clairvoyant and she told me that she was getting someone coming through to her that wanted to give me a big hug and tell me that they were glad that I'd finally found happiness. I asked her about who it was and the replies that she gave me I'm convinced it was a close friend of mine that had been killed a few years before. With the Tarot she then went on to say that i'd have a difficult pregnancy (I wasnt preggie at the time) I asked her if that was before or in the future (I'd had a m/c before) and she couldnt tell me. I am slightly skeptical as I am the type of person that needs hard proof.

I believe in certain ones, i think its quite noticable to tell which ones are just blaggin it.

I use to see some guy for few months, He got his reading done, in it she told him all about his friend who died in a motorcycle accident she also answered afew questions that my ex had playing on his mind regarding the accident. She told him the usual things that he would have a career change (Which he went on to do), and that for once in his life he is going to do something very kind for someone. She said the persons name was Elaine.

A year later i went into the motor trade (My exs new career change funny enuf) and he obvioulsy clicked i was the elaine the lady had spoke about. I was going through a major relationship break down and he helped me through it. Then we started seeing one another. I owe him alot as I think i would have done something stupid if it wasnt for him.

Once i was over it he let me hear his reading (He had got it recorded on cassette) the thiings she said and spoke about me sent hairs on my neck to stand up.... (Remember when my ex got his reading we had never ever met) So i thought right am going to see her.....

Again likewise she told me things i had questions about eg family that were dead.... regarding the future she said that in my case there was nothing she could really tell...... But everythign she told me about dead relatives was spot on...... and things they supposingly said to her are thigns they would have said should they be here.

Am abit skeptical about my reading but think i should go again maybe to someone different

A friend of mine is a tarot reader, but he doesn't use it particularly to predict the future. He uses it to enable people to understand what's going on for them right now, and what their future options are. He isn't on a particular spiritual path, but feels that tarot can be much more than just blindly predicting the future. On a personal level, and I think he would agree with this too, it's more about realising your own strength through your own decisions, then just waiting to see what "fate" has in store for you.

i've been teaching myself this for a couple of months now and is fascinating! its really accurate and altho you cant name actual events its great at understanding your character and you can see things that may be up and comin in your life or things that have affected you to.

i've always wanted to visit a psychic that could tell me a few things about dead relatives and maybe about events that have caused me concern

how do you go about findin a psychic?

Ive been a reader on and off for 18 years and have seen many readers varying in ability. There is only one I go back to as he's never wrong. He's a clairvoyant rather than a tarot reader. Last March he told me I'd have a son within 12 months. He said my house would be sold but I'd have to take my ex to court which was spot on again. He told me I'd create links with my family again after not speaking for 5 years again true and my OH is a good man and a soulmate. He also told me something that only I know of and have never discussed with another soul not even OH.

If he continues to be spot on I'll have a wedding abroad in the next 2 years

Been trying to find my reading as Ive got it in my head he said something about LO being early.
