Right so on the tub of milk it says for a 7.5lb baby at 2-4 weeks Bertie should have 6 feeds of 4 oz per bottle......try up to 9 feeds of 4 oz at 6lb 7oz! I demand feed and when he's hungry I'll give him a bottle but I do try and settle him with a dummy and a cuddle first just in case he's comfort feeding. It's on the dot every 3 hours all day and night so he's resting lots or having play time in between.

He's not puking so I am assuming he's not over feeding, just getting incredibly long! He's reaching the ends of the next size babygrows that he only grew into over the weekend, and they are all new so I haven't shrunk them in the wash lol. I've also never known a baby to pee so much  honestly it's like putting a nappy on a camel lol, we went through 12 nappies yesterday.

Before I mention this to the HV later (assuming she turns up ) does this sound like too much or should I just not worry if he's feeding ok? xxxxxxxx

He's eating about the same as Evie and she will be 4 weeks on Fri. I feed on demand as well and she will sink anything between 2 and 5 oz per feed depending on how she is feeling and has approx 7 bottles a day although she often grazes between 7 and 9 at night and can drink up to 8 oz across those two hours! I'm not worrying about it as long as the weight gain is ok, as I figure if she was breast fed I'd have no idea what she was getting!

And we have the same prob with the nappies but she's too skinny for the next size up yet!

Id ignore what it says on the box and follow what your baby wants xx

BB you must have seen how stressed i was over Max's feeding in the early weeks! i just ended up giving him what he wanted. he goes 2-3 hours at 5 oz.... he is 11lbs now but he eats more often then they suggest. sometimes he even has another 1 or 2oz extra (maybe once a day not very often)

feed him when he wants, they wont take more than they need- advice i was given and stick by this now.

you can run it by your HV but dont let her worry you if she says its too much! you;re doing the right thing by checking if its anything else before feeding him xxxxx

I'm happy that he's feeding is increasing but it's happened so suddenly lol. He's not filling out anywhere apart from his face, I don't know how many chins one baby needs lol, but he's getting so long

I think gave birth to a Twiglet :D

hahaha max is the same!! ten chins already and super super long!

hes prob having a growth spurt, max now eats less at most feeds (around 3oz) and has increased how long he goes between now so i reckon week 2-3 he was having a growth spurt xxxx

Sounds like he's doing just fine.

I never followed what was on the box except the instructions ie 1 scoop per oz. I demand fed too, and just went with what AJ was asking for. x

My lo has 8x150ml in 24 hrs and is 5 weeks tomorrow, at 3 weeks was having 7x120 ml and 1x150ml hth xx

My LO has always had more than whats on the box and shes healthy enough. Now shes on 4 X 7oz bottles a day and dont think it will be long before we are on 8oz!! X

Kayla was like that she was having way to much going by the tin and i was so worried i was over feeding her but she never got sick and hv saidit was fine, even now she is havig more that she should be accordting to the box but we just go with wha t makes the greedy little monster happy

Thanks ladies! He gained a massive 11 oz this week  and is now on 5oz bottles. He takes about 4-4.5 oz in reality but is still smacking his lips sometimes so gets the whole 5oz. He's over done it a couple of times and thrown up a bit but all in all he's taking it and keeping it down.....little piggy lol
