What was the easiest way for nightfeeds?

I'm not 100% sure I'll bottlefeed but my lo's need intensive phototherapy after birth due to my antibodies in my blood :( I did start BF Katie last time and was doing well and Katie was enjoying it but her levels were getting dangerous so I had to introduce formula and made the decision to continue bottle feeding :) Not something I regret and you've got to do what you've got to do haven't you?

I'm under no illusions that things will be different this time so wondering how you mums have managed night feeds.

I'm thinking of storing the warm water in an avent insulated bag by the bed and using the little formula dispensers. It's best all round of course if night feeds are doine as easily as possible especially with other lo's in the house :)

Any other ideas?

I've got a gadget I'm going to send you :) Wont say too much here because I'm testing it for a company but you'll find it more useful I think ;)

When Odhrán was going 2-3 hours, I would make 2 bottles and keep them in a cooler bag.. And if I didn't use that I would bring 2-3 sterilized bottles and small cartons of the ready made formula xx

What about making the hot water up in the bottles, measuring the powered out in to a travel dispenser type thing then adding the powder as needed. If you keep the bottles in an insulated bag they would stay fairly warm and you could leave one out to be the first feed so it cools quicker. Maybe a little bottle warmer for a 'belt and braces' approach?

Last time I made bottles as and when, like the cartons idea Jen :)

The gadget will be great Lisa :yay:

Last time I had bottles in the fridge and it was a right palava every night :wall2:

Think I'll use the warm water and dispenser :)

They change the way youre supposed to make it all the time too....when my eldest was on bottles you made it all up for 24hrs and had it mixed in the fridge ready to warm. My sister made up the water and added the powder at each feed so nothing went in the fridge.....:wall:

I make up all my bottles for the day but only put the water in, I add the milk to the room temperature water and Lucas drinks it without it being warmed. I do this night and day. On a night I have everything at my bedside ready so I don't even have to get out of bed to feed him.

I know your supposed to use hot water to sterilise the milk but like lisa said, it changes all the time xx

At first I used cartons and putthem in a cool bag once I was done, after that i just used the little pots! Ella's always taken her milk at room temp too, saves fussing to heat thm!

I always stocked up on the little ready made cartons for night feeds and when I went out I would buy the cartons to ment I never had to carry formula just empty bottles :)

I just 4oz of water in and a flask of hot water, then added 2 oz from the flask and had my formula in a dispenser! Jack was older thou

This is the way I always did AJ's bottles. In fact he's never liked warm milk. x

I was expressing at first and kept it in the fridge so had to warm it up first which was a pain. Once Evie was on formula I used to make the bottles from stratch and cool them down which was an even bigger pain! When she was about 5-6 months old I started making the bottles up with water ready and just putting the milk in so she had it at room temp and it was loads easier. My HV told me off though for doing it this way but it did Evie no harm

With Jacob I used to make them up for the day then put them in the fridge being honest it was such a pain to heat them as he'd only drink them at room tempurature anyway but my Mother moaned if I wanted to do it any other way! This time I'll be boiling the water and pouring into bottles and taking the powder dispensers out with me and a travel bottle warmer, so much easier!!
