Anyone had a flu jab request come through? My doctor has sent me one.
Xx

I booked mine in myself for 7th Oct.
I have a shite immune system to trnd to pay to have it done most years anyway.

I had it with my 1st too. They offer it in oct/nov time so just depends at what point you are in your pregnancy when you end up having it xx

I think I had mine after my 12 week scan with my last pregnancy. Literally had my scan, they gave me a leaflet and asked if I wanted it done and if I did just to fill out the little form give it back and then wait outside the room. Waited all of 10 seconds and had it done :) xx

That'd make sense. I was given mine at 12 weeks in mid December last time round :) xx

This ended up happening with my 1st too.
Dating scan was 11th dec and had it done that day. The surgery was booked up as i leftnit too late to book mine in lol! X

So weird I've had no contact ftom MW just a leaflet through the door telling me to get a jab!! Im 9+4 today xx

I've just had my flu jab letter through and so did my hubby so don't think it's pregnancy related but just coincidence they send it out around this time. Appointments in October though x

I read some stats a few weeks back that said the flu jab only works about 3% of people who have it.
I've never had it yet, and not sure I particularly want to either

PP xXx

Working I. Care, I have mine every year and it works every time for me.

I don't believe that 3% statistic

It depends when they took those results because in 2013 (from memory) when they did the research into predicted flu strains they got it wrong which resulted in far more people getting the flu. It's not always possible to predict which strains will need to be fought in any year so its guess work, but most years I believe the figures are much higher (60-70 percent according to my infection control trainer in a session a week or so ago). The flu jab is a totally different concoction every year.

It's personal opinion of course, but I wouldn't believe everything you read.

It has protected me every year I have had it and I will most definitely be having it.
