Hi girls

Bit of a random question really, but we are thinking of getting married May 2015 in Florida.

I'm gna start saving after xmas as can't book the flights or wedding places until a year in adance.

J will be 2, I'm just wondering if anyone has been to America with your LO and which airline accomodated most ? Or which airline did you go with and was it good/bad?

I have considered the flight duration and weather won't be as hot in May as the rest of the year etc, I think we will be fine.

Thanks

I was thinking virgin!

I just think a better airline might make the ride a bit less bumpy LOL!

I love florida too! I'm excited.

I've been 4 times, twice in one year once I loved it! I love the malls!

Probably package, we usually do that because of car hire, and mine & OH parents will prob come. Not sure of all the details yet.

I hate you can't book more than a year in advance!!!

I flew with Virgin when I went to Las Vegas and it was probably the best flight I've had. Free drinks and the service was amazing. Lots more leg room and their seats were extra comfy!! I'm so jealous ur going to Florida! I went in 2006 and loved every minute there were 8 of us, I was the youngest at 22. We booked a villa , hired a people carrier and had the best time. You will have an amazing wedding. Oh I'm sooooooo jealous. Xxx

I know I am excited and hope it pans out the way I'm wanting, can't organise too much until we actually book and know deffo plus dnt wanna get dress etc so really it a waiting game.

We usually do villa too, been looking at beach weddings, book a hotel for two nights on the wedding tho then spend the rest of the week having fun..

That's what I plan anyway..

I've heard lots of bad reviews for Thomas Cook long haul. We went last year with Thomson with a 1 yr old. You can take a car seat & pushchair and it doesn't cost a penny and isn't taken of your luggage allowance. Thomson regular seats have a bit more leg room too as standard than Thomas Cook. Virgin was simply too pricey.

We booked a villa through Thomson (bronze villa) and it was gorgeous and spotless, no more than 20mins from disney and 30 from universal and was around £844 pp (child free).

Few tips for you. Do not buy park tickets from your operators - very pricey and more often than not you'll get a voucher and queue ages for the actual ticket outside the park. Workout what parks you wanna go and check which the cheapest option is (we saved loads this way) and we uses Undercover Tourist and something like ParkTickets.com and these were actual tickets and came within a week of ordering.

If you don't have a meal plan or anything, buy some cooler bags at Walmart & if you have a freezer, buy some caprisun to freeze. These will act as ice packs for any food you take in with you (while about lunchtime!) and then they'll be completely defrosted to drink.

If you need help with park tickets them pm me and I'll look about for you xx

We hoped to go for Xmas this year, but our dog is too elderly and we don't think he'd survive another stay in kennels, so we didn't plan it.

We're fortunate that family will have the dogs! xx

Aw yeah I don't know all the details, OH dad is all about finding cheapest price he got us all cheap and car rentals and the tickets for like unlimited access to parks and I'd like to think theyr coming so no doubt OH dad will kinda put together and we will just pick where when and how.

Just wasn't sure what's most value for money and useful since we will be traveling with a toddler. I've been to florida on thomas cook, but got free promo to 1st class and my dad got an extra leg room. I'd happily go with them had I not have a baby, I neeeed the room.

Thanks again ladies.

Hurry up next year. The prices change all the bloody time!

Virgin are amazing with kids I'd highly recommend them. Not sure if BA fly to Florida but they've been great too when we've flown with LO.

Thanks Buggy!

Will deffo be looking into them both anyway, I know virgin are a bit pricey but we only intend on getting married once and if paying an extra couple hundred makes the 11h flight easier or that bit comfier im game LOL!

All the virgin staff are qualified in baby first aid too!

Hi russellmuscle, just wanted to say that we got married in Florida last year. We booked a package through Virgin, which included the flights, villa, car hire and wedding. We had such an amazing time and Virgin's service was fantastic. We didn't have kids with us but there were children on the flight. Didn't hear a peep out of them though as there was lots of entertainment for them, films, games, cartoons etc.
I also can't fault the wedding package that Virgin provided. We had a wedding planner that we regularly emailed questions and sent us ideas/options on venues, flowers etc. then had a local rep when we got there to talk us through everything and arrange any finer details. The whole thing was amazing and I can't recommend it enough xx
