To anyone who has taken their child on an aeroplane recently....

I know if you take a bottle of milk you might have to have a sip for them BUT what if I want to take cartons of "ready to drink" milk?

I am going to South Africa next month, the flight will be about 13 hours, on the way back it'll be a 2 hour flight, followed by a 13 hour flight
Obviously, a bottle of milk just isn't gonna cut it, I will need at least 3 cartons, but I'd prefer more just in case.

Anyone have any info in this? I can't see anything on the airlines website on cartons.

urchin i think they are relaxing the restictions of this sort of thing in the near future,
I heard it on the news yesterday.

I heard that too Budge. best ring your airline then at least if you have any probs you can say that you were told so & so when you called.

the sipping the milk thing always makes me laugh anyway - they're suicide bombers - why would they care if they drink it and its got exposive in it? not like they are going to say no it might hurt me!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I heard about the relaxing thing too, but it just says you can take liquids now, no more than 100mil in a bottle and the bottle shouldbe kept in a clear plastic bag.

I think I'll have to ring them to be sure.

If they say no though that'll be a right pain :(

how about taking the milk powder in pre measured portions, and the empty bottles, then asking the air hostess to fill the bottle with boiling water for you on the plane?

you can take 100ml of liquid now but baby milk will still have to be tasted , i had to leave a carton of sma at the desk because i couldnt taste it.i did take 3 bottles made up though but they would not let me take her juice in a bottle i had to empty it

Thanks for that. Shame about the carton though. I will have to take the powder I guess :(

I think you can take sealed cartons on they were allowing kids to take drinks on with them when we went in september. I took sachets of powder and a bottle of cold water that I topped up with hot then chucked in the sachets instant warm bottle! and that way I only had to drink the water

You can get a flask by fisher price for bottles, its just like a thermo flask but its soo good and keeps water hot for over a day its a life saver when out and about :)

we got it from tesco :)
