Hmmm, interesting one. I would always ask your midwife before starting a new exercise regime to be honest, see what she says. I'm sure it would be fine if you take it carefully and slowly, but best to check. Have you thought about swimming? Thats really good for building stamina and is lovely gentle exercise on your stretchy muscles/ligaments too.

When I asked my Dr about which activities I could do and which I couldn't, I was allowed to ride a bike (not that I have) so I don't think there would be problem with an exercise bike but I would ask your midwife as it's a new exercise for your body.

I think it'll probably be ok as you take it slowly/gently. Make sure you drink lots of water and try to keep cool.

I've not been very good on the exercise front lately but I did mange a 3mile coast path walk on Friday - had to walk slower then usual but I really enjoyed it. Plus I spelt v well that night!

Well done you for having the energy (and inclination) for wanting to go on an exercise bike! It's probably fine to do but as others have said it might be worth checking with the midwife as they say not to start new exercise regimes when pregnant.

Brill.. thanks you guys.. ill ask my midwife and see what she says.. *hugs*

I have a cross trainer in the house which i used a few times since getting pregnant, i'd only go on it for 15mins though, but i was afraid of doing some harm to babs, so i haven't used it since, im just too paranoid, as anything can happen, so will wait till its born to go on it - mind u i'll probably not have anytime for that
