Does anyone know if midwives can complete fit to fly forms? We're going to Portugal on the 22nd May and flying with Ryanair. I will be 29 weeks so the airline requires a fit to fly. They have a form you download which needs to be filled out by a doctor or widwife (according to Ryanair's website). When I spoke to my doctor 2 weeks ago she said only doctors can issue a fit to fly for a small fee of £25!

It needs to be done by a GP unfortunately and I had to pay £25 (currently on holiday and flew at 29+6) my midwife also did one for me just because she could and wanted to. I didn't even get asked flying out but felt better for having it with me. Also spotted 12 different pregnant women at our hotel so it seems everyone is getting in some sun before babies arrive. X

Yep, GP I'm afraid. Mine did it for free, which was very lucky!

Maybe they won't charge as the form is supplied by the airline, they only need to sign it.

Back from our holiday! Had a lovely time! Fit to fly letter cost me £25 and Ryanair didn't even check it! Not sure how I feel about that! Flight was fine, not overly comfortable but that's Ryanair for you! Ankles swelled, my right one in particular on the flight home, took ages to go down.
We have another flight in 3 weeks when I'll be 33 weeks. Husbands sister is getting married, not something I particularly care if I'm there for but tickets are already bought!
