mmmmm!! im gonna turn into a fish im tellign u!! i lvoe it.. i eat about 5 portions a week.. right now i have seafood stick, smoked salmon and prawns with sea food sauce!! omg.. im in heaven!!!

am i the only one addicted to fish??

now you've said that, I really fancy some seafood sticks- yum

Will have to go & buy some

I really fancy Gambas a la plancha....basically grilled prawns but done in the style of the area (we live in a fishing village so all the seafood is fresh everyday....but I was told pregnant women should avoid shell fish.... :x :x

I've also had a terrible craving for sardines....but the fresh kind, grilled and salted...

Ok im off for food... !!!!

Squiglet - you don't have to avoid cooked shellfish any more than non-pregnant people, the risk of food poisoning from bad fish is the same, it's just that it could be more harmful to you. If you're sure it's fresh then go for it! Grilled prawns sound delicious and you know they've been cooked enough.

I've heard of plenty people who continue eating sushi during pregnancy (not least in Japan where they wouldn't consider it to be a risk at all) as long as they know where it came from and the hygiene standards, so cooked shells are not so much of a worry.

Wish I lived there

Lol....I lurve sushi but have been avoiding it...although I've mentioned to my midwife that millions of pregnant Japanese women can't be wrong.

You don't want to live here Okaasan...Its still about 30+ degrees....ask pregnopaws...

hmmmmm YUMMY!!

I had prawns with vinegar down the seafront on Saturday!!! SCRUMMY

bugger it i say!! i dont smoke.. and i have had a half a small glass of rose with lemonade since ive been pregnant! so im sure that as long as they are fresh you will be fine..ive never had food poisioning from shellfish before.. so whats the liklyhood im gonna get it now?? i have however had food poisioning from a kebab.. and no i wouldnt have food i didnt trust..
