First time user of Ovulation sticks - really need your help.

Just received about 50 ovulation sticks in the post and also ordered a box of pre-seed.

My first question is -

1) How do you use them ?. I've just tried one out and i pulled the white strip of that said 'max' on it and when i dipped it in my pee, holding the blue end, nothing happened. Are they supposed to be that tiny, bit fiddly aren't they.

I am on cycle day 12 so to make sure i get it right am starting to test today.

2) my other question is - when is the best time to do it. do you have to not have had anything to drink for 2 hours before you test ?.

Oh and finally has anyone used pre-seed before and gotton prego....

1) You dont pull anything off the strip you hold it by the end (usually green) and dip it into the urine up to the max line but not beyond the line.

2) You should restrict what you drink before you test and not go for a wee for a few hours beforehand - sort of save it up if you like. You can test anywhere between 10am and 8pm i think, but not with first morning urine. I test at about 5:30 when I get in from work not having gone for a wee since end of my lunch break at around 2pm.

A few people who have recently got BFPs swear that pre-seed is what helped them.

Firstly - dont pull the white strip off that says max on it. Dip that bit into the pee up to the max level, leave it dipped for about 10-20 seconds, then lay it flat on a dry surface and wait for the line to appear.

The best time to do it is after 10am and before 8pm. I do mine around lunch time, at the same time every day (around ovulation). You shouldnt use first morning urine.

I havent used pre-seed so have no advice for that sorry. Good luck! Hope you detect ovulation soon!

Also loobie - are your sure they are ov tests? The blue ones are usually HPT (Pregnancy) tests arent they - well the ones I have seen are?

I have blue ovulation tests! They have only recently been blue though! I bought them from the same company as always, they used to be green but now they are blue. Can you imagine though they had sent HPTs by mistake and all this time Ive been getting positives but I hadnt realised!

I never realised there were blue ones - jeez they are just out to confuse us all....oh well, scrap that about whether they are ov tests Loobie, but does the info on how to use them help?

yes choclatemonkey, it does make sense. i basically pulled the thing apart when all i have to do is dip the max line end into my pee

my cycles are normally 41 days, but never been able to pinpoint ovulation. so let's hope i can this month.....
