All started of well our first trip out on public transport went well
the bus and the space for the puschair the ride in was fine collier was lovley

But coming back after waiting 45 minutes for my bus it ws one with only the rack it already had 2 puschairs in it an the bus was full to bursting with school kids. :x

so i had to ring the in laws to come and get me after ringing of i relised id forgot to remind Ian to bring the car seat  he'd already left when i rang back
so when he arived i had to get him to go back get the car seat then come back agian for me

ive not had much practice with the puschair and couldnt for some reason get the damn thing down so Ian had to lower the seat to put it in still up.

And now im to scared to asking for a lift tommorow because of today
my bloody local rail staion is closed so i need to get a lift to a station further out to get to london

god i hate this i cant get out and about i was so proud of myself at the start and collier as he was being so well behaved the whole day but if the buses dont have the space for the puschair i cant lift into a rack holding a baby and if the space is full then im stuck waiting another 45 mins for the next bus

then it all went wrong

for an easy life i'll just never go out !!

ok rant over

thank anyone whos read this pathetic moan im sure next time out it willl go much better i hope

bonus = kids arnt in school tomorrow!!!

Well done for getting the strength to try it, it will get better and easier, it was just unlucky that there were already 2 pushchairs on the bus

Its bloody hard first few times Sarah, youl soon get into the swing of it

I know exactly how you feel.

I had my first outing with Maia on Tuesday after getting back into the driving seat after my section and that went horribly wrong.

Like you I didnt have a clue how to fold and un-fold the pram as hubby had been doing it all with me having the section.

Anyhow I wont bore you with the full details of the problems I had but I did go out the day after and whilst yes things went wrong again, I felt much more able to cope and I wasnt as upset as I had been the day before.

It will get easier, I have been out every day this week and Im a pro now!!! You have to remember that you havent been anyone elses Mummy before and these are all new tasks that we have to learn, no one can show us we have to do it by ourselves through trial and error, learning from our mistakes and hints and tips from others.

aww luv. please don't let this negative experience get you down. We all have them.

maybe its just me, but i ask the driver for help! most of them are nice enough, and if they arn't I ask for their name and who to send a complaint letter to! :rotfl:

Why don't you just wear collier? When I lived in London and had to travel on buses and trains (didn't have a car back then) I would never have survived if I had used the pushchair...now I have the same problem. I can't carry the pushchair its too heavy so I sling lil miss if I go out on my own :)

in needed to use the pushchar as the reason i was in town i had a dentist appoinment and i needed it while i hAd my check up.
The rest of the time i use my sling. but sometimes im going to have to use the pushchair And with his resent weight gain hes been pulling on my c section scar and its a bit painful

I used to have a nightmare of a time getting the bus into work when James was 6 months old. THe bus company kept replacing the scheduled pram bus with a tiny one with steps. Luckily others passengers, or sometimes the bus driver would hold James while I got the pram on the bus. I imagine people aren't that friendly in London though.

I would take the pram and the sling so you can put collier in the sling whilst getting the pram on the bus. I would practise opening and folding the pram at home when you've got more time to concentrate.

I got my pram at 18 weeks pg so I spent the rest of the pregnancy playing with it
