Hi all,

This is my first post. After spending the last few weeks reading numerous forums I decided I needed to post myself. It is my first month ttc. I haven’t been on birth control for months and had a regular cycle. I’ve spent the last 10 days symptom spotting convinced something different was going on this month, sore boobs, feeling nauseous, fatigued and just all round run down. I was due to come on next Tuesday, then last night started with my usual period cramps, after waking up today with no bleeding I was again symptom spotting thinking this was a good sign and maybe implantation, then today when out my bleeding started :( it’s a few days early which is really unusual. I’m now starting to think that everything I “spotted” during the last two weeks was all in my head. Has anyone else found this, how did you avoid the symptom spotting in your next cycle.

I know it can take months and feel so stupid thinking it could have happened right away, I’m still thinking maybe there’s still a chance it’s not a period. Does anyone else feel this, does it get easier? X

This is very normal behaviour and we all do it to some extent. I try to ignore as much as possible but I think some months everything seems to point at being pregnant, even when you aren’t. All I can suggest is to keep yourself busy as it’s easy to go way over the top, thinking every little sign is impending pregnancy. you’re not alone xx welcome to the forum and ttc :petal:

Thank you Princess81 that means a lot.
It’s good to not feel alone.

You’re welcome :) take a look at some of the threads in the ttc board, most people are wondering the same things and there’s normally quite a lot of activity there x

I drove myself insane with this. I had an early miscarriage in January and the month I was pregnant I KNEW well before I took the test because I was dizzy and burping all the time and my gums bled when I brushed my teeth. Every month since then I spot the symptoms I read about and wind myself up to the point I no longer trust my own intuition. I think my advice would be as you are just starting out avoid the forums for a few months and enjoy all the sex! Everyone is different and the forum is great for information and support / shared experiences , the people here aren’t medical professionals and it can get a bit overwhelming.

You could ask your doctor to confirm that you are ovulating (a blood test) or confirm it by doing your temperature to check (basal body temp with a fee app like Fertility Friend) and I’ve just discovered a year since the miscarriage that I should have had my thyroid checked as that has to do with implantation - another blood test.
Hope that helps, big hug xx

Distraction is the only answer I have found. I have spent months staring at my boobs second guessing every bloated day and twinge.

I have just got my BFP this week after 19 cycles and praying it sticks. And have had only 1 symptom that I can confirm which has been a pulling pinching in my ovary region since about 4dpo.

Every other cycle I get a similar feeling around a few days before AF starts.

Try to keep busy during your 2ww and avoid early testing if you can it will only drive you more crazy alternatively buy lots of one step cheapies to satisfy the poas urge. Good luck x
