I am really struggling to find a song for our first dance.

Our song is "I've had the time of my life" it was the first song we ever danced to. We now think this is better for the last song of the night to show that we have had a great day, but what do i pick for my first song

What did all you married ladies have?

I'm living in sin but Lionel Richie "All Night Long" is what I am going to have  Eventho OH don't last all night long! :rotfl:

lol kx....your poor OH!!
i'm having Iris-goo goo dolls..me and OH both love that song!

theres so many beautiful songs to choose from though!
i do agree time of my life is more an end of the night song though...but its your wedding so up to you at the end of the day!!

Why you living in sin?

What date is your wedding now?

from this moment on. by shania twain, i love that song....

shame i aint even engaged :wall: :wall: :wall:

Ive always said when i get married ill have heaven by dj sami but the slow one so thats what im having.

Oh, thinking about our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free
Now, nothing can take you away from me
We've been down that road before
But that's over now
You keep me coming back for more

-[CHORUS]-
Cause baby, you're all that I want
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven

Oh, once in your life you find someone
Who will turn your world around
Pick you up when you are feeling down
Now, nothing can change what you mean to me
There's a lot that I could say
But just hold me now
Cause our love will light the way

-[CHORUS]-
Cause baby, you're all that I want
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven

Ive been waiting for so long
For something to arrive
For love to come along
Now our dreams are coming true
Through the good times
And the bad
I'll be standing there by you

-[CHORUS]-
Baby, you're all that I want
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven

:puke:

We're having The Ramones, 'Baby I Love You' A BIT alternative but not too wacky or overdone!

Our other choice was 'You and Me song' by The Wannadies.

It's a civil do so we definitely going to have 'Signed, Sealed Delivered' by Stevie Wonder as we sign the register and 'Here, There and Everywhere' by The Beatles during the ceremony.

I love this topic :D

Shania Twain... You're still the one is what my friend had...very nice.

My Oh wants 'what a difference a day makes' if we ever do it! :shakehead:

I also love fly me to the moon by Frank Sinatra :D

Our first dance song was Enrique Ingelis (sp?) Hero.

We had Call of The Search by Katie Melua, It was a lovely song and loads of people commented on how nice it was.
we also considered What A Difference A Day Makes by Jamie Cullum and Amazed By You by Lonestar.

Hope that helps. :D xx

I wanted mine and Phil's song, which is Love Song by the Cure for our first dance...

but the stupid dj forgot to bring it with him on the day!!!

So he stuck on some random song that neither I nor Phil had ever heard of before. I was well upset.

Actually I've heard it a lot of times since then, but I had never heard it before that day.

I can't actually remember what it was now - I'd know it if I heard it though.

The Lonestar tune is the most picked first dance in the UK. I'm a mine of useless trivia :D My sis had it.

We almost went with Truly by Lional Ritchie but changed it in the last month to Babyface and Everytime I close my eyes - my DH is a huge fan

EVERYTIME I CLOSE MY EYES
(Babyface)

Girl, it's been a long, long time comin'
But I, I know that it's been worth the wait
It feels like springtime in winter
It feels like Christmas in June
It feels like heaven has opened up it's gates for me and you

And every time I close my eyes
I thank the lord that I've got you
And you've got me too
And every time I think of it
I pinch myself 'cause
I don't believe it's true
That someone like you
Loves me too

Girl, I think that you're truly somethin'
And you're, you're every bit of a dream come true
With you baby, it never rains and it's no wonder
The sun always shines when I'm near you
It's just a blessing that I have found somebody like you

HOOK

To think of all the nights
I've cried myself to sleep
You really oughtta know
How much you mean to me
It's only right that you be in my life right here with me
Oh baby, baby

I had the same as Sophie - Heaven. What made it even more special was that the band learnt it especially for us and did it in an acoustic version. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it!

i had aerosmith 'dont wanna miss a thing' as thats what my OH proposed to me too, then we had a second dance song which was Elton Johns 'Tiny Dancer' and our last dance was Free 'Be my friend'. id love to have just one moment of that day again!

We are thinking of "All my life" by Kaci and Jojo, Dj Sammy or Simply red, "You make me feel brand new"

"Signed sealed delivered" was was we were going to have on the way out of the registry office! Should be a laugh!!

Thanks for those replies, isn't it funny how people want different types of music to dance to, i thought it was just soppy songs but there are loads of alternitive ones!
