my poor little christopher has his first cold and what seems like a bit of a cough he seems ok in himself just a little grumpy struggling to feed only managing 3-4 ounces instead of 5-6 although has been feeding a bit more often today no temperature or anything but am a bit concerned about his feeding as i know they can lose weight so quickly at this age
dont know if i should get him to see doctor or wait and see how he goes over the weekend any advice would be welcome xxxxxxxxxxx

awww bless him.
Louie had a cold at 5 weeks old & it was awful, we could only give him Saline drops up his nose to help, his feeding was affected too, but the cold only lasted around 4 days.
i don't want to advise you not to see your doctor though Rach, so if you feel you should take Christopher, then you should hun.

have you tried propping up him mattress in the moses at night so he can breathe a bit easier? this helped for Louie & also steaming the bathroom up,
sorry i haven't helped much have i?!!
take care, hope Christopher gets better super fast.

i round run myself a nice hot steamy bath, pop alice in her bouncer and let her sit in the same room as me. kills two birds with one stone. I would get a LOVELY warm relaxing bath and alice would get the benefit of the steam

as foxymum said Saline drops help loads.

get better soon little man

Aww poor little thing! When Brody had a cold at about 9 weeks we got told to give him saline drops too which did help a little! They were called nasosal I think! Also as the others said propping the end of the moses basket and the steam or even just a bowl of water in the bedroom to keep the air moist!
It's awful when they are poorly so young as there's not much you can give them to help!
Hope he's better soon

thanks everyone hes not too bad only seems to be coughing when feeding i think the milk is making him a bit phlemy (sp) his nose although snotty is staying clear so he is managing to feed just not taking as much as normal but hes very clingy wants to be held constantly i had to stay up all night with him sleeping on my chest he was crying awful whenever i put him down managed to get some sleep today while o/h had him so have caught up a bit and christopher doesnt seem quite as bad this afternoon although im preparing myself for the fact that most things get worse at night and i probably have another restless night coming up xxxxxxxxx
