what was your fist ever car? when did you get it and when did it die or be got rid of?

what did you like about it best?


my first car was a shiny black mini! The old type of course!
i had it after i passed my test in 1992 and it died on me in 1996.
i loved how nippy it was.

I got my first car in 1999, 5 years after passing my test lol so I was a little rusty, and after being too scared to go over 20 I decided to take some refresher lessons

It was a lovely red volvo 340GL, cost me £100 and had been owned from new by a mechanics wife so it was in near perfect condition, and I would highly recomend these "old bangers" as a first car to anyone....very forgiving and the bumpers are proper rubber so you bounce off lamp-posts you invariably hit lol

I swapped it in 2001 for a Merc SLK, which I then had to downgrade to a Ford KA when I left my cheating ex

My first car was a metallic green Fiat Uno, with silver racing stripes, a big exhaust, racing pedals and racing gearstick ... it was only a 1 litre, but was so reliable.
His name was Joe, He lasted me from when I passed my test (2004) till just before I had Eloise - I noticed he was leaking fuel (and I still smoked in him and flicked my cigarettes out of the window - even did it when parked a few times ) and was told there was a whole in the petrol tank. It would have cost more to fix than he was worth so he went to the scrap yard in the sky as far as I know (his brake pipes were also a bit rusty... he wasn't safe to drive at all at the end!!)
I still remember his number plate!!!!

my first car was the one i am currently driving, my blue vauxhall corsa V reg (2000), bought it off DF last March as soon as i had passed my test!!!

will be selling it soon though as i want HIS GolfTDI - girl racer - ohh yehhhhh

Mine was a rover metro 1.1 stonking little car bought it after i had one driving lesson with a proper instructor then put my mate in the car with me and taught myself, passed in ma wee metro "max" after that one and only lesson,
I passed it on to a mate who wanted to learn to drive, but they sold him cost me £800 7 years ago and had moon mileage on it, i still see him buzzing around with an ole lady driving him now

I am going back 20 years!!! but mine was an 'old' R reg ford escort, that was when the letter was at the end of the numberplate and not at the front!!!

My ex bought it for me for xmas and it cost him 50quid!!!! he wrapped it up with a big ribbon, that was when he was still being nice!!

I had that car a couple of years and loved it, the steering rack went on it and you had to drive with the steering wheel like you was always going round a corner!!!, got that fixed and then my sis had it for about a year until someone went into the back of her at some traffic lights and it was written off (prob fell to bits), shame as I think it only had about a year to go til didnt need a tax disc anymore

I had a G reg white metro. After a few year things started going wrong with it and then some idiot man drove into the back of me and wrote it off! (A blessing in disguise honestly!) He was too busy rubbernecking what was going on with the police on the otherside of the carriageway!

Mine was a brand new Toyota Yaris when they first came out (yes I was spoilt ). My parents spent a fortune on it and I completely wrote it of after 3 months by ploughing through a man on a motorbike!!!!!! (his fault not mine)

My first car was a H Reg 1.0 Red Fiesta (I loved that car!) Didn't even have a 5th gear..............and I remember how much effort it took to reverse park (no power steering!)....

....I bought it in November 1999 and wrote it off in August 2000 got hit by a divvy driving at 80mph on a 30mph road!! He nearlly killed me as he hit my drivers door at full force and sent me careering down the road into a tree - and nearlly killed himself as he didn't have his seatbelt on!!!

My lickle brum brum was then squished down into a square of metal (RIP H255 CFK)

a couple of months after I passed my test, me and my 1 litre Fiat uno, used to risk our life going as fast as we could (80 downhill - 40 uphill!) on the A1 and M25 every wekk.
I have never been so scared in my life on those roads in such a low powered car, but it was bl**dy good fun!!

I only passed my test last year while I was 4 months pregnant and my first car was a white italian job ltd edition mini (old mini!) called milky. I had a little bump into our garage door one day and have totally lost the nerve to drive! So milky has been sold! I loved him to bits but I didn't feel safe! We have a MG ZS now but I still daren't drive so my husband always drives!

My first car was a silver Peugot 205 that used to be my moms many years ago. After that I had an Audi A4 and last year we sold the Audi and got a Ford Focus C-Max which I absolutey love, its such a great family car with loads of room.

mine was a red rover 214 (my mum's old car!) as soon as i passed my test at 17. i kept it until her insurance ran out then let her sell it coz i couldnt afford to insure it myself!
every time my dad gets a new car my mum gets his and i get hers, so at the moment i've got her old 2litre volvo lol, its blahdy massive (a bugger to park!) very practical tho i suppose for my massive graco pram!
i've got my eye on her lovely shiny suzuki 4x4 convertible... *drool*!

Got my first car in April last year - a navy blue 1997 Rover 214.

It lasted until July last year and then died on me. Stupid thing. Head gaskers apparently. It would have cost more to repair than the bloody thing did to buy (which was £1500). So I was pretty much forced to sell it back to the garage where I'd bought it from - and they only gave me £100.

Fecking rip off. Only had it a total of 3 months and payed all that money for it! Would have been cheaper to have rented a car!!

I loved this car. Only sold it because it was starting to rust, and i didn't want it to fall apart! I miss it sometimes!

My first car was a brand new Rover 218 TDi in 1992 (bought by Daddy ) I haven't had anything remotely new since

The first car I bought in 1994 was a Rover Metro 1.0, orangy red colour called Betsy. She went to heaven when bits started falling off.

Since then, I've had another two Metros, a Maestro, a Montego Estate, a 216, a Renault Espace (the newest of the lot, but a crap bag of sh1te) and now another Montego Estate. I like my Rovers and still miss them all (except the Espace)

I passed my test in 1988 after 53!!! lessons - did past first time mind you! lol.

My first car was a cool mint blue mini and I called it Minty - it was soooooooooooo nippy and I could park it in the tiniest of spaces (now my parking is dreadfull and can only reverse park between two cars properly! lol)

I sold it to my mom when I had an offer of a real bargain white fiesta that was too good to miss - she had it several months but then it got nicked from a shopping centre car park.

I remember we were driving round for ages trying to find it! lol I told my mom that I had got a tattoo done whilst we were driving round and she was not impressed! S Lol That wasnt a good day for her!
