Hi ladies

I have not posted in a while due to ridiculous hours at work.

I am really suffering at the moment. Due to working really really long hours my SPD has become unbearable. I am in pain and struggling to put wight through my left leg which is making 14 hour shifts really hard! I have physio on Monday and I am really hoping they can help!

Also morning sickness (or all day sickness) has returned and I feel sick all the time which has resulted in me dropping a few pounds. A few people have now commented that I have lost weight! I have gained 10lbs in 31 weeks! Baby seems happy enough though! She kicks all day and has a lovely heart beat so I am not too worried! I see my midwife again next week so I can talk to her about it.

Hope your all well.

Luckily I don't have to work long shifts but I struggle with SPD and can't weight bear properly on my right side. The GO signed me off for 3 weeks to rest up and I'm. It back at work but taking paracetamol wig 60mg codeine 4 times a day just to keep, mobile plus the nausea has returned too :(
I had 6 weeks of physio but to be honest there wasn't much she could offer other than mobilising advise and what not to do movement wise.
I feel your pain x

I am correct in thinking your a nurse too Charlie? When do you plan on starting Mat leave? I started mine this Sunday gone, the 14 hour shifts were killing me (especially when they put me on two in a row!). Most nurses I know have started their maternity leave around the same time as me too.

I don't have any advice regarding the pain but I hope you are able to start Mat leave soon as I fear that's the main issue (obvs SPD too but at least you wont have to be up and about so much!)

x

Hi ladies

Yes pismo I am a staff nurse too! I have been signed off for 4 weeks then I can start mat leave. The pain is getting worse rather than better and I have spent the last week on complete bed rest! I am trying not to take any medication but I need it if I want to stand up!

Physio was helpful. I have a tubigrip, support belt and crutches. I have some stretches to do but she didn't do a full assessment due to the pain! I have to go back in 3 weeks after I have rested the joints!

Joys of pregnancy! It will be worth ever ache and pain when I finally meet her x
