I'm missing working  . It's been 3 weeks now since I've been off and I'm feeling a bit trapped at home, I was signed off so wasn't my choice to finish this early. I would usually drive 100 miles a day through the lovely Kent countryside but I'm stuck at home. I had to quit my evening classes as I missed to much due to morning sickness back in Feb. I feel like I'm just waiting to give birth at the moment. I think I will be OK once baby is here as my life will have a purpose again.

DH is going away for 3 nights working so will be on my own. All my friends are working during the day. TV has been taken over by football :bored: . I was going to go swimming today but the phone kept ringing so never made it out the door. I've read some of my book, done 2 loads of washing and shouted at man from BT about my bill. I've run out of things to clean.

I just sat on my sunlounger in the garden but it's not sunny enough to sunbathe and watched the planes going overhead.

I need something exciting to happen.

why not make something exciting happen rather than wait for it to happen.. you could still drive to some lovely places, even kent if you wanted to.

you could join the netmums site and try and meet people that are already on mat leave or are SAHM.

Theres a world of things, ignore the phone aswell - if its importnant they will try your mobile or call back.

I know what you mean, I don't drive....... yet, so I'm finding cabin fever is setting in big style. Like you, all my friends work during the week so I haven't got anyone to meet up with during the daytimes.

I have joined Netmums like 1sttimemum suggested. It's pretty good but I only joined a couple of day ago so haven't managed to get in touch with anyone yet.

I agree with you about rubbish telly, apart from Joan Rivers swearing on Loose Women earler- that was very funny

I hope things get more exciting for you, I'm sure once our LO's arrive we'll be dreamig of having nothing to do :)

This is the second day of my maternity leave and I am knackered - have had so much to do. I'm hoping it slows done somewhat next week!

I would definitely get out and go swimming Hazel, I went today and it was great in the uncrowded pool :D

Hope things get more exciting for you :) And hope you meet some nice people through netmums Alex :D

I use the public pool and because it is school holidays still, there aren't too many people. I reckon serious swimmers round my way must have joined proper gyms

I might have to sign up to netmums, see if there is anyone in my area. Stupid question but is it free?

Cool, I may go and sign up now :) See if there are any Mums in my area. I was going to wait and see if I found some cool people at my antenatal classes, but hey, why wait! :D

I know what you mean, I have cabin fever. This is my 3rd week of maternity leave (first 2 weeks were holiday leave). The first 2 weeks I was really busy but am bored stiff now!.

I joined a bump and baby group that is run by the NCT but you don';t need to be a member that meet round another Mum's house for 2 hours for coffee/teas and biscuits once a week. I'm sure there will be one in your area just go on the NCT website and email your local rep.

As the other's say join netmums and meet up with other people
