We went to our first parentcraft class last night and I quite enjoyed it .
The only thing is it has made me worry about lifting and carrying LO.
She passed around a dummy baby to see what weight people said it was , I said 7lb 9oz and it turned out to be 6lb 7oz.
The thing these blooming hormones keep make me worry about is that up until October last year I had been getting physio treatment (I had it on and off for about 2 and half years) due to having neck and shoulder problems from a car accident.(Some muscles where working too much and some not working at all). It was just about sorted at one point and then came back and now It feels fantastic just the odd twinge and weakness very very very occasionally.I'm just worrying at the back of my mind that its going to come back again and I might drop the baby. I know in my sensible head it's not coming back this time and I know I'll be fine and be able to give baby lots of hugs and things I need to do to look after it. But hormones keep making me think negatively and making me cry. Sorry for the long post ladies just needed to get it off my chest.

darling... don't worry and get yourself all upset! I know it is hard not to. You don't have to carry baby all the time you know, even when you are feeding you can support the baby on a nursing pillow etc... so you will not have to bear the weight and you can lay down with baby for cuddles  you will not miss out!

I was talking to OH and I suddenly burst into tears and decided I was going to hurt the baby and what if I don't like it. i asked him if he loved the baby already and he said yes, but I cannot say that I do as it doesn't seem real yet! I talk to my bump all the time but I still cannot believe there is a baby in there...

Aww bless you topbird, have some hugs back

I know what you feel like as I have longstanding neck and spinal problems from a car crash. My physio recommended a few things to minimise the strain on them when LO arrives: a baby bath that fits on top of the normal bath to avoid leaning over and straining to lift the baby out, a changing table (for the same reason), and a sling to carry LO about in. Good luck.
