*sigh*... you know most of the time i'm fine, really happy infact, but sometimes i get a bit down. I have my 25 week midwife appointment tomorrow and i'm not really looking forward to it as i have so many questions and i know that the midwife always makes me feel rushed, and doesnt really seem interested, she always says 'look in that book i gave you, all the answers are in there.' Is it such a problem that I want answers from a human rather than a book?

The things that are on my mind are: the birth plan, antenatal classes, when to give up work (i have more than 1 employer), claiming maternity allowance (as i dont qualify for stat mat pay)... i feel like there are too many things to sort out.

My mum left my dad at christmas aswell after 31 years of marriage, and they are both caught up in sorting out the divorce which is not being done in a friendly way. I am an only child, so struggling with questions about all of that.

I have a few friends that have lost babies recently and friends that are going through break ups, and sometimes I find it all too hard. My husbands family are over joyed about us having a baby, and they are both retired and awaiting becoming grandparents more than anything, talk about pressure.

Anyway, I'm usually a lot brighter than this but just needed to write it all down I guess. I might do some housework or something to get some adrenaline going round. hmmm, roll on the next 4 months when I can hold my little angel in my arms ... thats all I want in this life!!:)

Aw hun so many things running through your mind at the moment. Didn't want to read and run! I hope your midwife gives you more information about things, if not is there maybe a number for midwives you could call, so you're not talking to that one? I know what you mean about hearing it from a person rather than trying to get your head round information from a book - think your midwife should be answering the questions for you like! Whether it's in a book or not. I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow and yeah keep focused on meeting your wee baba :-), hope the stresses ease for you soon xx

I think if your midwife is flippant about your questions you could try being more assertive? I guess that's easier said than done.

What about a little bit of pampering yourself to pass the time and help to boost your morale a little? xx

I would ask your midwife for a home visit so you have more time. Justvtell her how you feel. They should be more supportive chick. If she still isn't maybe ring her senior and explain the problem. I think midwives assume people know as much as them. Hope things smooth out for you soon 15 weeks till u meet ur baby. Just think if u bought a babygrow a week you still wouldn't have enough :)bi think that and it makes it feel less time :) xxxxxx

Just wanted to say thank you for your kind words, I feel much better today :)

I had a different midwife yesterday and she was lovely! she took the time to listen to me which I thanked her for and I am going to try and see her every time if poss! yay! ...

babys heart beat was perfect, my blood pressure was good, urine sample great and baby is a good size, so all in all, a very good visit :bump:
