Hi guys I have a bit of an issue with my job. I'm probably just over reacting! Well I work in a busy retail environment and it can be very stressful at times. My main duty is to stand on Customer Services and deal with returns and queries. The problem with this is I am constantly running back and forth to price look items on the PC upstairs or running upstairs for management approval! They dont trust us very much where I work! I then have to get all my stock out that I have returned during the day, put stock out inbetween serving customers and also tidy up various departments before being allowed to go home. If its not completed then I will stay until it is done so.
The shop is huge and people are constantly throwing things on the floor even as we stand next to them tidying it back up again. They just don't care. I am in absolute agony from bending down and standing back up every couple of seconds. I know I am only in the early stages and I am probably just being silly! Its just I dont know what to do. I usually work 6 hour shifts 6 days a week. I do get a 30 min break but this is the only chance I get to sit down and it doesn't feel adequate.
The only way round this would be for me to sit in the office and take an admin role or cash office role. The thing is I am not qualified to do that and they would have to spend time and money getting training for me which they don't have.
I just feel a little helpless really. Do you think I am just over reacting?! Argh!
