hi dionne,
I go through phases of thinking its great and then that its not. He had an upset tummy last night so the first thing I think is that its the rusk. Maybe, maybe not but today I think I should just feed him bottle.

Im sooo tired, like you say and its now at the point where one of us is going to sleep in the living room just to get a kip.

So, harley didnt really settle at night till 4 months when he was getting spoon fed?? Please, give me something to aim for. :rotfl:

i started sleeping throught the night when i put rusks in his bottle on his last feed. but through the day he was none stopi couldnt feed him anough, he was 7weeks old having 9oz bottles every 2/3 oz
i was worried it would give him bad belly? and wished bottles went up to 10oz

it will pass at some point though
have you tryed giving him a dummy?
i used to find Dior was the same but it was mainly because she wanted to suckle and not feed?

How much rusk did you put in his bottle. Was it the last bottle of the dream feed bottle?

Ive tried a dummy and he likes it sometimes and sometimes not. He is really inconsistent. Sometimes like to be swaddled, sometimes not.

Thanks, this is all helping and making it seem a bit more normal :cheer:

i used to give him a quater of a rusk in a 9oz bottle for his 8pm feed. and he slept through didnt do a dream feed then.
then after a week or two he started waking again so i gave him half a rusk :D

it is normal hun dont worry x x

thanks dionne,
Im just about to give it a go. Fingers crossed.

i tried charlotte on rice the otherday, she loved it. but i was telling someone on another forum and they wer all going mad sayin shes too young and il make her poorly... do you all agree? iv stopped giving it her for now as they all scared me to death. but if i start her on it again... how many feeds do i give her 1 or 2 as that was another thing no one agreed on.

It's not recommended that you give solids to a baby under 17 weeks as it is bad for their kidneys and can cause health problems later on in life.

It didnt work anyway, he was just as unsettled. I know what you mean about the 17 week thing but I feel that every baby is different, this boy certainly is. He just roots all the time. Wee monkey.

Ella was like that on the boobie, she just wanted to be fed every couple of hours. She was quite a hefty thing too weight wise. I guess that because I didn't have any other children I just went with the flow, but if the next bub is like it then it's going to be a lot harder work.

That coorie pouch is good for having the 2, i can do things when need be and if I need to go out with the buggie I can push it and have joe in the pouch.

Ive decided not to percivere with the rusk, its not made any difference, he seems to drink less milk to compensate for the rusk.

Have to say that I'm glad you decided to drop it

He'll get better at it all in his own time hon, you can't be blamed for finding it hard work, I know that I'm going to

Im glad too. He is such a lovely wee boy, I just want him to be wakened and not upset. He has the hugest grin.
