im really crap at facebook and only just getting started.can someone help me if someone writes on your wall how do you write a reply on your own wall back?or dont you?

Normally you would reply on their wall

when someone writes on your wall at the bottom of their post i think it will say

wall to wall / write on so and so's wall.

you can write on either of them i think.
