You should give facebook a go!
It's very addictictive, IMO.

I like myspace because you cant see people's profile's on Facebook without being their friend and I would like to be able to look at people's pics etc - grrrr!

That's exactly why I prefer Facebook, I know that only my friends can view my profile. It's a bit more private but I've made contact with loads of people I haven't seen since I left school.

I agree with maybebaby, to me, the privacy issue is important.
