I'm 8+3 weeks with my first and never in my life have I experienced such horrible nausea! And this horrible taste in my mouth, what's that all about?? Nobody warned me of this before I fell pregnant. All I've managed to keep down these past few days is water - over this past week I've lost around half a stone because I just can't bring myself to eat anything. Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, how on earth do you cope with it? What do you eat?! How long does this last?? Please let it go away asap!!

I am sorry your suffering. What your feeling is absolutely normal I bet you feel like you are extremely fatigued too. The only advice I can off is eat little and often but continue as best you can with the water, Oh and rest plenty of rest. I have suffered like this with 3 out of 4 pregnancies and it does pass. Usually around 12 weeks the placenta takes over and the symptoms ease. Hang In there hon it will be worth it in the end xxx

Poor you bluefloral I hope you get some relief soon I was like that during my last pregnancy this time I feel grim but not quite as bad. It's not fun take it easy xx

Poor you :( I'm so glad I'm over all that, now I'm in the beginning on trimester 3. You've just got to hang in there I'm afraid, I had terrible morning sickness and migraines. Just make sure you sip water little and often as you don't want to dehydrate. Remember, it won't last forever and it'll be worth it in 7 months time. *hugs* x

There's a lot more they don't tell you...wait till you get piles. (Hopefully you won't). You have my sympathy though as my nausea has been horrid. I find tiredness and not eating makes it worse. Biscuits and bread help me, although not my waistline! I hope you feel better soon xx

I've had the awful taste in my mouth too, still do, the only things that help is eating or drinking. I'm eating loads on an evening just to take away the nasty taste. Last night after a small - ish dinner I ended up having a mince pie, a scone, Ribena , a banana, a cup of tea, and 6 Jacobs cream crackers :( lol.

Oh I was exactly the same. It does pass...well the metalicy taste passed still get sickness every now and then and nausea daily. I'm half way thru my pregnancy now. Good luck!xx

I've not worked out how to get rid of the metallic taste! 😫 Although some days are better than others now. The nausea and vomiting are horrendous but I have definitely learned that avoiding food and poor sleep make it a million times worse. When I figured this out the only thing I could stomach was salt and vinegar discos! So I ate them! Eventually, after about three days I added dry crackers , mashed potato and toast! Keep drinking, sips only. Keeping fluids down was hardest for me and I ended up on a drip after not being able to drink anything for over 48 hours.
Eat small amounts, often. Try not to get upset. If I start to cry you can guarantee I'll throw up!
If you feel you can't cope, tell a doctor or midwife and be insistent that you can't cope. They can help. X

Oh and don't beat yourself up if you're diet isn't great at the minute. I had fruit for the first time in 4 weeks today as I've not been able to stomach it! Go easy on yourself.

I had this with both my girl pregnancies = from 6weeks to 30+ weeks!

The only thing I found that helps, but doesn't get rid of the taste is - bicarb toothpaste, lemon chewing gum, salt water mouth rinse.

I found eating savory but dry crackers etc ok and would just keep nibbling on them all the time. OFten having an empty stomach makes it worse so you do need to try to get something in. with my first daughter I drank complan meal replacement shakes!

Aw I really feel for you , I have been awful this pregnancy , just as you describe . The taste still hasn't gone away . But I does get better xx

Ooooh my looks like am not the only one I have this weird taste in my mouth not metallic it feels more like a morning taste after hours of sleep even brushing does not help this is so new to me with my daughter I had an easy time this time round not so much
