Hiya

Today Evie has been really snuffly and nasal although her nose is running like mad. She's also got a bit of a cough.

I've put some sunffle baby on her and she has a couple of drops of olbas oil on a rag in her room.... is there anything else I can give her??? Her temp is fine, it's 36.4.

Also she's been really bads with teething this last fortnight...could this be linked to it??

I've just given her 1.5ml of calprofen... figured she might have a headache/sore throat like you normally get with a cold. She was whining like mad.

Anyway 1.5ml has done the trick...she's finally fallen asleep.

I feel guilty because she was obviously in pain and I didn't give her anything. I don't like her having medicine. That's why she only had 1.5ml and not the recommended 2.5ml. Does that make me cruel though??

Noo babe dont be silly! Its good that your concientious and not just pouring medicine down her throat to shush her. Although I would say if she is really in discomfort there is nothing wrong with giving the recommended dosage as its there to make her feel better and the body is much better at healing itself during sleep time.

Sounds a lot like how James has been recently and I think its his teeth too. His second one is coming through but its taking for ages and his gum is really swollen. :( He is a bit snuffly etc and so unsettled. I have found letting him suck on ice helps, also cold cucumber and melon really soothes him too.

Hope your gorgeous little lady settles and is better soon chick
xx

Jacob has been exactly the same today  He's normally so happy but has been very grumpy, bright red cheeks, runny nose and a little cough. I gave him some calpol and he's settled now so i'm thinking teething!

How's Evie today?

She's been a little better throughout the day but she was up from 4am..so she ended up in the middle of us on her changing mat which we propped up with towels so she was raised up...that seemed to help a bit.

I've got a purifier going in her room, Karvol on a muslin on her cot and she's had some Calpol.

she's had snot candles all day today which she's rubbed on my shoulder/face/neck/hair :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: anyway as a result I feel like poo now! I have a crackin headache, earache and a sore throat
