She just wont settle in the evenings. Well she will, but only if she's had her feed and she falls asleep while feeding. and then i have to hold her or she will wake up. I cant put her down anywhere because she wakes up. ive tried swaddling her and it doesn't make a difference.

i spend all day looking after her and oliver, and when oh gets home i just want some me time, but i dont get it.

why is she like this?
i spend all evening holding her. i cant even go to the loo without her screaming the place down. occasionally i can get her back to sleep by rocking her in the chair, but really that;s just luck

Could it be colic? Our evenings were horrendous until 11 weeks. She'd scream blue murder for no reason from 6pm until 10pm until it gradually eased off as she got older. Then it stopped suddenly. I'm sorry that's not much help but have lots of these

Logan has started doing something similar, he used to go down really well at 8, but for the last 10 days it is a fight from 8 to about 11:30 (sometimes as late as 1 am) to get him to sleep. I think in his case it is linked to having a cold. In the past he gets like this after injections (which were last thursday week), hopefully it's "just a phase".

But i hope things get better for you soon, when did it start? Colic usually arrives between 2 and 4 weeks of age, if she is fine on you and only gets upset when you put her down it might not be that. We also find with Logan when we put him down after sleeping on us he needs to have a blanket put over him straight away to keep warm.

yeah she is fine if i am holding her. its just when i put her down. she is a very cuddly baby. which i really dont mind, but i would like her to be comfortable sleeping in her chair or somewhere else!

I agree with Lorna - could be colic. Finlay had it and he was fine when someone was holding him but if you put him down it must have hurt and he screamed really bad

I've been getting this the last 3-4 days with our little man :wall:
He 'passes wind' regularly all day   I keep going to change his nappy because I think he's done something  And it seems to be the afternoon onwards he'll wake up from a nap crying and whimpering and then that's it  he just wants to be cuddled and everytime you try and put him down anywhere (either just before he nods off or when he's actually fallen asleep in your arms) he'll wake up either instantly or within 5mins and start all over again *sigh*

I'm using infacol on m/w advise but I don't like giving it before every feed. I did to start with but after a few days it bothered me that I was constantly 'drugging him up'.
Doctor saw him last week (more recent) when it wasn't quite so often and suggested cutting down to 1 infacol a day and not to worry as it was probably just his gut maturing because all his other vitals were fine.

I'm thinking of stepping up the infacol doses now it's gotten worse or maybe changing to something else....but I don't know what.... :?

U need to give it every feed and it can take a few days to make a difference. The wind thats trapped will come up as a burp - not out the other end.

If you are bottle feeding then anti-colic bottles can help too.

I used infacol and I was breastfeeding and it worked fantastically.

He's got the anti colic tommee tippee bottles - he was meant to be breast fed but it didn't work out so he's been on formula for the last 2weeks.

Hmmm I'm not sure what it is then. The crying and whimpering definately seems to be an 'in pain' thing because he'll writhe (sp?) around at the same time and curl up back in the fetal position :( His face will start going bright red and he just looks totally miserable...

He seems to be passing really smelly wind on and off constantly all day though  which has been getting worse along with the 'pains'. We try burping half way through each feed and then again at the end. We usually get something  but he never seems to have trapped wind......I'm confused :wall: lol

ive given amelia the infacol type stuff, but she cant manage to swallow it. she gags on it and im scared of it going down her throat cause she really struggles to swallow it.

Try gripe water - she's old enough now

Or boots do granules (colestan or something ) that disolve on the tounge. I used them for a bit too and they were fab :D

I thought it was a month  No idea - I didn't use it so I'm no use as usual ;)

They are in the pharmacy bit - little glass jar with a spoon. You need to ask for them :D
