With my first baby I needed intervention via Ventouse and cut to help get lo out.
All healed fine no problems.

Now I'm pregnant with baby number 2 will the scarred tissue be fine or will it tear during labour?

I'm hoping some of you lovely ladies have some advice/experience to share.

I had a 2nd degree tear and episiotomy with my first. With my Second it tore slightly but not badly and didnt require any stitches. It wasnt particularly sore either. Good luck x

I had an episiotomy with Lyla so interested in replies on this. My scar has been getting very sore lately but baby is riding so low its not really surprising

If you are going to tear, it will prob be in a different place anyway, as years are natural whereas the cut would not have been. Don't worry though because it will never be as bad as your first! There is a certain skin looseness with subsequent babies

I had an episiotomy to help my son out wi vaccum and then had a normal delivery and no tears wi my next lo x

Hi, I had an episiotomy and an additional tear when I had my son via ventouse, I had my daughter 2 years and 5 months later and got away with just a slight graze :) she was 2lb smaller and didn't require any assistance but both scars were fine :)

Comforting to read your stories ladies as this is my only real worry about labour.
My episiotomy scar still aches now and then, & it's been 2years 8months..xx

Thanks ladies. I didn't get cut from lady bit to bum it was to the side (sorry tmi). My scar sometimes hurts if I sit funny.
Here's hoping everything stays in tact and labour goes to plan!

i had a 2nd degree tear with my first and after the area seems quite tight so I did panic a bit about it not stretching enough or tearing again during the next birth - but I had a water birth with my second and was in the water for almost 2 hours before she was born so think it softened everything nicely- as I popped out a 9lb baby with no pain relief and no tears!

my mum was cut with her first but the next two were natural births with no more than a graze.
