Any mums to be with epilepsy out there? I've put this in third trimester rather than the high risk section as it always seems very quiet in there! Just looking for someone to chat to about any worries about being a new mum with epilepsy :) xx

I haven't had any known seizures for 15years and haven't been medicated 17years (wow that makes me feel old!) so I can't really help with any worries. But I hope someone else has some help for you.

The only worry I have is that I could have a seizure in labour or one of my Children have epilepsy. (I was told I have a 1 in 3 chance of having a child with epilepsy)

Thanks so much for getting back to me Tasha, and congrats on being seizure free for so long! I had my baby on Monday, labour was difficult but unaffected by my epilepsy. I am now back home and getting used to life with my beautiful little one. Life with a newborn obviously means very little sleep but I'm finding that even when she is asleep I am not able to get to sleep myself, which is frustrating and causing me to become anxious about having a seizure, which in turn probably makes it harder to sleep! I have spoken to my midwife and partner and am going to try my best to relax when she is sleeping and get some rest myself.

Congratulations! You'll be running on adrenaline for a few more days.

Hopefully you can get some sleep soon though, because it will kick in.
