with dior i didnt feel a thing and didnt have ANY stitches :cheer:

If you have an epidural and it works properly even if you do tear then you wont feel anything!

I tore without it.
I wanted to have one this time but I hear you have to stay in longer and I want to be out as soon as pos with it all happening at xmas I want to be at home with Luke and with it being my second if all is ok I think I can come out the same day dose anyone know how long they keep you with your second?
I had to send Luke upstairs last night while Eastenders was on he was glued to it he looked so scared, he said to me that he dos'nt want the baby to hurt me like that!
I dont want him hateing the baby just becouse it hurt me! it was funny though

I had an epidural with my first and it worked fine but i must admit i did feel the tear.

I am defo going for the epidural if i can, i am a big wuss!!

I think you need to stay in for 16 hours or something after you've had an epidural

I really dont want an epidural would hate to stay in those horrible places any longer than id have too.
Having a home birth anyway so wouldnt be an option :D

Didn't want an epidural with Damien but screamed for one half way through
This time I want to try it with only Gas and Air again, but I won't set anything in stone on a birth plan etc, as I know each birth can be totally different and I might not cope so well second time round. Will defo be on the Gas and Air though, that stuff is magic! And it helps to make you breathe throught the contractions properly.

i dont want an 'epidoodle' because say i wanna poo or pee after giving birth.. i dont think u can go toilet.... i heard you have to wear a nappy or use a 'thingy' in bed!!!

plus i wanna feel every ounce of pain so later on IF she gives any grief, i can recite the famous line my mom use to say ...

'' do u know the pain i went through' :rotfl:

I never had no trouble going to the toilet after my epidural. Most of the time they don't top you up right at the end so you can push better.

Haven't had an epidoodle with either of my pregnancies as it seems to prolongs labour. In my experience you respond to what your body is telling you, I was only 7cm last time and felt urge to push, so i pushed. If i had had one i don't think i could have responded to what my body was telling me as you can't feel anything. I managed on nothing first time and tens machine 2nd time and each labour was less than 3 hours from start to finish (induced). Alex weighed in at 8lb 6 and cameron 6lb 1.

Also please note i wasn't trying to be brave or clever, concentrating on my breathing helped loads.

Yeah im going to TRY with out any pain relief or just gas and air but then not having ever experienced it before Im just going to go with the flow and do what feels right at the time!

I asked for one as Lukes head was coming out but they said it was to late.
Gas and air is good though even if oh had more than me.
Just want this time to be easyer, Luke was only tiny 6lb 15

I had 2 epidurals last time, neither worked  :shakehead: I was up and walking straigh afterwards. I am hoping 3rd time lucky as I had a rough birth, they had to give me what they give to women who go into premature labour, so it would slow me down!

When my sister went for her C-Section, she obviously had to have an epidural and she was so scared. The surgeon had a spray and each time they sprayed they said to let them know if she could feel it as they needed to know when she was numb...................well she kept saying yes she can feel it (thru shear fear, but all she could do was hear the spray not feel it hitting her) She ended up having so much, that she couldn't even hold her little boy afterwards as she was almost lifeless above her waiste aswell  but she was pain free :)
